I honestly feel sorry for a lot of people out there who are bisexual but are pressured & shamed into picking a side - it's bad enough when religious institutions and political entities engage in this behavior, but it's even worse IMO when the gay community does this. So much for acceptance.

People don't come out of the womb with an iron clad awareness of their identity, it's something we all develop over time - and oh, by the way, if you realized you were gay before someone else did, here's a cookie, nice job!

What someone chooses to label themselves at any given time is their own business, not yours.

I just had a "coming out" experience with a straight co-worker & good friend recently, who up until that moment I thought already knew I was gay. When he started asking me some questions, and I realized where this was going, I was pretty taken back at how respectfully he approached me about it. Conversely I have an even deeper respect for the guy now as well. Afterwards he gave me a hug and that was it. Big deal.
