This thread is absolutely enchanting. Love fetaby's Bird Fly Through Us and Antony Gormley works---they are stunning and melancholic at the same time.

It's a massive minimalist sculpture by Richard Sera. No one in my hometown knew what it was until some developers wanted to rip it out of the ground.

The Nelson-Atkins Museum in Kansas City has the largest selection of Henry Moore sculptures outside of England, where he is from. The Hall family (founders of Hallmark Greeting Cards) bequest millions to preserve his legacy in America.

"Free Stamp" an outdoor sculpture located in Cleveland, Ohio's Willard Park. Created by Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen

I think it's a 50/50 love/hate for this sculpture among Clevelanders. It was originally intended to sit upright with the free hidden, but was moved from it's original site. The artists said it was appropriate, as if it had been thrown to it's new location by a giant.

Claes Oldenburg and Coosje van Bruggen

Spoon Bridge is in the Walker Sculpture Garden in Minneapolis, I've seen it buried in snow, and it's awesome.
They preserved ordinary objects in a grand display for the ages. The "feel good" art of the modern era. Pop Art in it's simplest form.

Claes lost his wife, Coosje, to breast cancer a couple years ago, and it seems to have slowed his prolific pace (he's 82 years young), but they will both certainly live on forever through the great images they left for us.

The Shuttlecocks are at the Nelson-Atkins in Kansas City... there are several of them around the grounds
