Pure fiction perhaps but how does this fit?

What if Cheri Love aka Charlene is Noah's mother?? What if the Colonel is the murderer? And his unnatural need for "family values" is fueled by Charlene's career in prostitution. Maybe the Colonel's long held belief in Noah's lack of manly attributes are because of who Cheri was?

One thing for certain Cheri having a son or daughter that is between 16 and 20 is no mere coindence. Are there any other people on the show that would fall into that category without a family history? Am I missing someone?

I'll have to think it over and do a little research since I only recently got into it, but I am quite interested myself and, even with the little information I had, I did come to the conclusion that what you have said IS a possibility.

It sucks that they killed her off. She had the makings of a great character to cause lots of problems. Well maybe they will have the actress come back as her twin sister trying to find the killer(Hey, its a soap!).

Or maybe she isn't really dead o_O

lol, I just can't get over how several years ago on another soap they killed like 10 people, with bodies and everything, yet not a single one actually died.

*sigh* Soaps can be so much fun :P

It is so true that on soaps people have a penchant for popping back up alive, take a look at Paul Ryan in the past two years he has "died" twice. Paul's father James Steinbeck is another prime example of a death that just doesn't stick, he's been murdered at least 5 times that I know of.

It is a shame that Cheri was murdered. The actress playing her Robin Mattson is a soap legend who would have been an interesting addition to Oakdale. If it does play out Cheri is Noah's mother it'll be quite interesting to see how this draws Luke and Noah together.

So, the Colonel could have made up the story about the fact that she died when he was a kid, to disguise his shame of being married to a prostitute. It is feasible, given the fact that it is a soap. It just doesn't make for a good storyline though, in my opinion. What point would there to bring in someone who probably won't be a permanent character (unless something has changed that I didn't know about)? The only consequence is Noah disowning his father and realizing that the fact his father has been preaching about how to be a real man was complete hypocrisy; he then chooses to be with his love rather than his beard.

It actually does make for a good storyline(in soaps anyway), because the Colonel is one of the least suspected, therefore making him the biggest suspect IMO. He actually does have motive, because his values seem so at odds with hers. Or at least the values he preaches. It is a very likely idea considering that it is a soap storyline.

Additionally, it will bring Noah and Luke closer, particularly if Luke's mother Lily is involved in exposing the Colonel to be Cheri's killer. I mean if the Colonel is the killer it's a given that he and Lily will be involved in some sort of "catwalk life hanging precariously by a thread" storyline climax.

This whole little story if it plays out as we have discussed is called plot driven and is just a device to pull Noah and Luke together. Not to mention demonstrating how Noah can overcome his internalized homophobia. How about then Maddie being pregnant with Noah's child? Wouldn't that add a nice Jerry Springer twist to it all??

The sad thing is, with the past history of soaps, Maddie being pregnant with Noah's child would probably spell the end for his being gay altogether. Plot twists like that are typically used to destroy a couple in the harshest way possible and make people hate the new couple because of it.

Maybe Noah is really bisexual. That would create a real triangle, instead of just using Maddie as a beard. Also, I hope the "Colonel-murdered-Cherie" storyline isn't true, because the women of Oakdale need a goodlooking guy in that age group. Barbara, perhaps?

Well, if it isn't the Colonel, I've got to research pasts a bit more.

I'm hoping Noah is NOT bisexual. That just leaves it open for ATWT to pull an AMC and start reversing history.

I don't know, the bisexual angle seems interesting to me. I haven't seen it done, at least not by a male character. I'd love to see how the writers handle it. Maybe I just want to see Maddie and Luke duke it out,

I wonder if someone from Noah's previous friends, and maybe more, is going to arrive in Oakdale. (If you don't know, Col. Mayer stated yesterday that Noah would hang out with the wrong people in his past, which is why Noah has to be with Maddie, or he'll start to go back to that lifestyle...this was paraphrased, but you get the point of his statement).

I think a lot is open to see how things are received. "Colonel" is a great actor from years ago on Ryan's Hope. Now that was a soap.

Boy, I personally hope that Noah does NOT arrive the realization that he is bisexual. That anguished puppy dog look he had yesterday over seeing Luke with Rolf was so well played. When Noah is unable to deny his feelings for Luke it is gonna get really interesting ...

As for Daniel Hugh Kelly he is very good in the Colonel role, but I find it hard on some weird level to see him playing the heavy. He was so good as the flawed Frank Ryan on RH. And I totally agree about the show needing some older men to pair with the ladies. Anyone remember Lisa's romance with Earl Mitchell? It was such a sweet storyline.
