After a long absence from this story, I hope this chapter does not disappoint! Please enjoy and let me know what you think!!
Chapter 18
"They want me to pledge!" I say as soon as Greyson answers the phone.
"Kendall thats great! I knew you'd make it in!" he answers. I can hear that he has a huge smile on his face.
"Thanks! Well, I just wanted to tell you that. I've got to let my brothers know. Have a goodnight!"
"You too, babe. Congrats again"
We hung up and then I sent a group to text to all of my brothers letting them know that I had been accepted as a pledge of Lamba Simga Omega. They all sent back congratulatory messages and well wishes. I'm really so lucky to have these 4 guys! Growing up I was the baby and was always the victim of their merciless teasing. Now that we're older, it's like we're best friends. They were so supportive when I came out and they didn't mind listening when I broke up with Bryan. I know these guys always have my back and that is a great feeling to have.
After reading further on the invitation, it said that all men who accept this invitation should come to the following address at 11 am the next day. I decided to head to bed now so that I could be well rested for whatever was going to happen tomorrow.
I woke up the next morning with a huge smile on my face! Today was the day that I was going to see what being in a fraternity was all about. I had no clue what was going to happen when I got to the location I was told to go to. Was it a nice event? Was I going to be doing something messy? I stood looking at my closet for like 10 minutes just starring at my clothes.
"You really are gay." I heard Ethan chuckle as he looked at me looking at my closet. "You've been standing there for like 10 minutes starring. I'd just walk up, throw a shirt and shorts and put them on."
"That explains your lack of style. You're so hetero sometimes." I replied making a silly face in the mirror at him.
"I'm trying to decide what to wear to this frat thing but I have no idea what we are going to be doing." I continued.
"Why not a pair of colored shorts and that dark grey v-neck." Ethan replied.
"Huh, that would be a good choice. It looks nice but is also casual. You may have a little homo in you yet." I laughed.
"I'd never let you fuck me." Ethan said in retaliation. I responded with a spare pillow to his face before I went to shower.
After a shower and last minute checking to make sure I looked good, I grabbed the address and headed out. Blair walked out of her apartment at the same time I did.
"Morning!" she exclaimed. Blair was very chipper this morning.
"Where are you off to?" I asked
"This address I got last night when I was invited to join Zeta Beta Zeta!" she squealed.
"I got into Lamba Sigma Omega! What is the address you're going to?"
We each took out our invitations and compared addresses. They were at the exact same address! The only difference was the room number. We decided to drive together since we were going to the same place and it just made sense.
We pulled up to a hotel about 15 minutes. We still had 10 minutes before the time on our invitations.
"I wonder what this is about?" Blair asked. I just shrugged as I had no idea either.
Blair and I got out of the car and headed inside. The concierge told us that the rooms we were looking for were conference rooms and showed us the hallway they were in. Our rooms were right next to each other!
"Well here it goes!" I exclaimed as we both put our hands on our respective door handles and walked in. Blair blew me a kiss and we walked inside.
The conference room was empty except for chairs set up in a circle. There were four guys already in the chairs and two more standing off in the corner by a door talking quietly. I noticed that one of the walls looked like it could move to combine the room I was in with the one Blair went in.
I recognized one of the guys in one of the chairs as Todd. I remember seeing him through out the week. I decided to grab a chair next to him. Before I could move, the door opened. In walked Bryan.
Bryan walked in with a smile on his face. When he saw me, he looked me up and down.
"Hey Kendall."
"Hey Bryan."
Then I turned and sat next to Todd. I didn't realize Bryan followed me until I felt him sit on the other side of me.
"You're Kendall, right?" Todd asked.
"Yeah. Todd?" I replied
"Correct. I thought I remembered seeing you during the week."
"I'm Bryan." Bryan said holding his hand to Todd. They shook hands as Todd restated his name.
Just then the back door opened and in walked Parker and Ian.
"Alright, if you could all find a chair and have a seat then we'll get started." Parker announced.
When everyone was seated, I counted that there were 11 guys in the circle. Not counting Parker and Ian, there were 9 pledges.
"What I'm going to have you guys do first is to stand up and name as many people around the circle that you can before we do introductions. Just say the names, don't point to the person." Parked explained. Then he pointed at me and told me to go first.
"Okay" I replied, standing up and looking at the group. "Parker, Todd, Kendall, Bryan, Ian...That's all I've got" I chuckled sitting down. Parker made a jot on his notepad and then pointed to the next guy.
I just sat back and listened. Some guys said more names than me, some less. After each guy went Parker made a note on his pad. Once the last guy went, Parker cleared his throat.
"Alright so the guy who got the most correct names was you." Parker said once again pointing to me. "So you'll start us off. Tell us your name and answer three questions from the rest of the guys."
"Hey, I'm Kendall" I said standing up giving a slight wave.
"Alright 3 questions for Kendall" Ian said
"From my understanding this is a sport fraternity, what game do you play? asked a guy with jet black hair.
"Does Clue count?" That got a couple chuckles. "No I don't play a sport, more so a theater nerd. I met the president of the fraternity and he was insistent on me joining so here I sit."
"You're the guy that turned Greyson James into a fag, right?" asked a guy with a buzz cut. He certainly didn't look pleased.
"We don't tolerate using that word in this fraternity." Parker quickly intervened. I was just standing there not knowing what to say.
"But Greyson is dating some fag boy! The whole campus knows it!" the guy continued.
"If you can't tolerate people who are homosexual and not use that word, you are not welcomed in this organization." Parker stated standing up. Buzz cut guy and the guy next to him got up and left the room.
"Okay, next question." Parker said as he removed their chairs.
Then another guy stood to ask me a question.
"Not that I'm against homosexuality or anything, but aren't you the guy Greyson is seeing?"
"Yes, he and I have been on a couple dates."
"Last question."
Bryan was looked over at me with a weird look on his face. "Have you slept with him?" was his question.
I can't believe he asked me that at all, let alone in front of all these guys! I glared my eyes at him before replying.
"Not that it's anyone's business but no we haven't...yet" I replied putting extra inference on the word yet. Bryan just looked down at the ground.
"Next guy!" Parker quickly said looking at Todd.
The guys made the rounds and questions were asked although none as personal as mine.
I learned the other 6 pledges in order they went: Todd, Mike, Ashton, Nate, Chad, and then Bryan.
"I'm Parker, fraternity president and this quiet guy next to me is Ian. He is in charge of pledge activities. If he tells you to jump, you ask how high?" We all nodded our heads in understanding.
"Now that you guys have been introduced to each other; get ready to meet your female counterparts."
Parker pressed a button and the wall that I thought moved, did. On the other side, the girls were sitting in a circle like us with their president, Whitney, standing.
"Alright, ladies and gentlemen, combine circles!" Whitney exclaimed.
Quickly everyone picked up their chairs and we made a big circle in the middle. It was split down the middle of boys and girls with Parker and Whitney sitting next to each other and Ian and the sorority pledge leader sitting next to each other.
"Whitney and Lea, will you introduce your new girls?" Parker asked.
"Sure!" Whitney replied then went from the girl next to her and around to Lea. The sorority pledges were Tiffany, Amy, Rachel, Blair, Charlotte, and Danielle. Parker then introduced us guys.
"Alright ladies and gentlemen, the first pledge task is already upon you. Every year fraternities and sororities team up and get the fraternity pledges ready for the annual Frat Sync Battle. Ladies you will pick two songs and choreograph dances to them..." Parker trailed off.
"And guys you will dance them in costume and in front of everyone." Whitney finished.
The girl pledges all laughed and looked excited while the male pledges' mouths dropped and were in disbelief.
"Our first rehearsal practice is right now!" Whitney continued. "Guys just hang tight and ladies start thinking of song choices."
The girls rushed to their bags to grab their ipods and immediately start scrolling for the perfect songs.
"Just a reminder, we want something that can impress the judges. That can be through comedic song choices, awesome moves or a combination. One of the song needs to feature more than one voice too. This can be either a duet, a song with another person featured or a group song." Ian piped up.
All of the male pledges stood together, watching the girls and try to guess what songs they'll choose.
"The comedic part would be for us to sing very girly songs." Todd stated.
"Maybe some sexy dancing to please the female judges" chimed in Chad.
"Kendall, you should lead us. You did musical theater in high school and you're a great performer." Bryan said looking at me.
"Do you guys feel like you're missing something?" Nate asked out loud to the group as Bryan and I stared at each other.
"Bryan is my ex-boyfriend. We used to date in high school." I replied, looking away from Bryan and towards the group of guys. The guys quietly stood there nodding their heads.
"Well, if all that is true, then you should lead us, Kendall." Todd finally said.
"Hey everyone! The girls have chosen the first song we want to work with. It's the song with more than one voice so you'll all have a lip sync part. There are only two major voices though so we need two of you to step up." Whitney yelled out
"What's the song?" Chad asked
"Buttons by the Pussycat Dolls feat. Snoop Dog." Blair responded "We were thinking Kendall take the lead and maybe Todd would take Snoop?"
"I'll take the lead pussycat" I said, that earned my whoops from the guys and clapping from the girls.
"Shit, baby, you know how I do. Snoop Doggy Dog in the hiz house." Todd joked.
"What does that make the rest of us?" Bryan asked
"Pussies" Blair winked.
"Alright, guys go get very familiar with the song and ladies start the choreographing. We'll meet up at 7 pm tomorrow in the same place." Parker said.
Just like that all of the guys headed out together and the girls went their own way. Blair and I shared a quick glance at each other over the shoulder before heading out.
Little did the guys know though, is that I already know this song by heart.

My, this is going to be interesting. Good thing Kendall is in theater and up for the job. I wonder if the girls will also have to do something? Bryan is bound to get to Kendall anytime he can. I have a feeling to other pledges will have Kendall's back. Glad to have another fun chapter, accord.
