  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Ask Splatter... stuff!

The answer, my friend, is blowin' in the wind.

Not that subliminal, really.

You mean you would hang us upside down by a noose and make us listen to this?

...I seeded the Pandora station with the first song and the next three bands. Right now I'm listening to "petals" by Hole. It's the first thing on the station where the vocalist is singing, rather than growling.

You should check out the Pixies. I'd be interested to know your reaction.

You mentioned having spent some of your growing up time in Germany. Is/are/was/were one or both of your parents in the military? If so, what capacity?

I have a younger brother as well as a twin; i am the middle child.

Cool. I think you said you and your twin don't really get along. How much younger is the younger brother, and do you get along with him?

The last time i was deep in the pit though(Lamb Of God), three guys around me had WICKED scar stories - one got a tooth knocked out, one had an earring ripped out by a crowd surfer, and one guy had a deep gash on his arm. Which caused a girl to pose with him, sticking her tongue near the wound. Sick.

EEEW! lol

In order: No

never heard of them . . . SIDE NOTE: I just listened to Wave of Mutilation by The Pixies.

I know now two things - that Scarling. covered that song, and where the genre "stargaze" came from. Probably why i'm not much of a fan of Scarling as i was a fan of Jessicka's previous band - Jack Off Jill.

Does this mean you didn't like them???

Okay, I fucked up the quote thing I had going on, so I'll just finish with this question:

Will you please listen to Fishbone as soon as possible? They are/were heavily influenced by Curtis Mayfield, and even covered "Freddie's Dead". They're this crazy modgepodge of punk, funk, soul, and ska. Pretty please? The oldest stuff is the best.

My bets are on Exhumed ^ ;)

As a metal-listener, myself.. What song would you recommend to me, that you're currently enjoying (and why)?

Neat.. just listening to it on YouTube now.. The solo is very Slayer, aha.. But yeah they're pretty pretty! I like how it gets grind toward the end with the vocals.. ..|
Enjoy the show! :D

If you could put on a one day fest or regular concert, what bands would you add to the bill? ;)

Noice! ^

Can I have your new t-shirt and hat, as a trade off, then? ;) :grrr:

Should I do one of these, too? Cos I'm fucking bored, as well... :p

On the music tip:

Do you like Bad Brains?

No.

I can't support a band that is homophobic no matter how pioneering they are, and since i don't know that they've changed, i'm not changing my stance on them. THeir brand of homophobia is ironically why i don't listen to Beenie Man, Elephant Man and other dancehall/reggaeton artists anymore.

Before hearing that they(or at least, the lead) were homophobes, i had only heard two songs by them - Pay To Cum, and Soul Craft. Once i learned that they did have a song about their homophobia, i stopped exploring.

I haven't delved into them much beyond the "hits", and haven't read much about them, either. They're homophobes???

Shit.

Interesting what happens when you want to learn about artists, eh? #-o

So fucking disappointed . . .

Oh well. There's lots of good music out there made by artists who aren't fucked in the head.

OOH! That brings me to a question:

Can you recommend any heavy music made by musicians who are gay?

When is the next concert; who will you be seeing; and can I come too?

It's either going to be Summer Slaughter(June 13th - headliners Necrophagist and Suffocation!), or BOTH Threat Signal(June 8th, with The Agonist and others) and Summer Slaughter.

If my vacation goes as planned, i'll be seeing Daath(June 30th) in another state... ..|

And, always! The more the merrier. :)
Necrophagist are so awesome live; I saw them in 2006!

You didn't skip Erykah Badu, did you?

I'm glad this thread got a bump, because I was thinking of you yesterday afternoon.

I logged into Pandora, and since "splatter radio" was the last thing that was on, it came up. The first song was something by Slipknot. For whatever reason, I found it not only tolerable, but interesting (there was something about it that was almost "poppy"). Then there were a couple more songs.

Then Erykah Badu came up.

"What's this?... mmm, the thing he told me not to skip." It was some LONG (*gruff* long) piece off an album called "Green Eyes."

"Oh, yeah," I thought, "that's what I'm talkin' about!" It was a startling contrast to the other stuff. I had to get up and cook dinner, so I logged out of Pandora, but I'm glad I got to find Erykah.

OK, next: Where did you get your current avatar? Who/what is that little bird?
