Hi Jasun,

you seem to know a lot about cameras and lenses, videography and photography.

Do you learnt them in school? Were you a film, photography student??

One very experience photographer told me photography is about talking rubbish to people like Dame Edna Average to make people laugh.

Yes. I started out in my photography club in high school and then I studied film at York. I also have worked with some incredible photographers like John Marsh from Fratmen and Brian Mills from Titanmen who taught me everything they know.

But I've also been working for years and have developed a lot of my own tricks and techniques.

Thats' really not what photography is about. That's maybe a good way of getting a person to show some personality on camera, but there's really quite a bit more to it than that.

More to it.... like giving an extra inch to a dick or height of a performer with angles and lighting techniques? :D

Hi Jasun,

how do you determine if the lights (light stands) that you set up for a scene.....if they are correctly placed, if they are bright enough ??

Do you look at the viewfinder of the camera? Or do you look at the LCD monitor of the camera??

Which is the correct way to determine if the scene set up is too bright or too dark?? Do you look at the viewfinder or the LCD monitor??

The LCD monitor is already build into the side of the camera, and can be flipped over to the side.

Or do you connect a monitor to the camera and check if the scene/lights set up is too bright or too dark??

Is your husband jealous ?

People ask me that all the time and I'm not really sure what they mean by that.

Is he jealous that I'm around naked men? No. It's literally just my job. It's not like I'm having sex with them.

Making people look as tall and commanding as possible with lighting and angles... yes.

And of course using light and shadow to accentuate abs and other muscles. that's part of it.

Obviously you need the best representation of what you're seeing. A monitor is the best, but if that's not possible, I fine the eye piece has a much more accurate representation of what the camera is seeing.

This is probably off topic, but you have never been shy about answering questions, so let me ask. In the past you talked about doing foreskin restoration. Are you still working on that or have you given up? How were the results?

I never really went far with that. Seemed like too much trouble, honestly.

Hi Jasun,

do you apply sunscreen on your face when you're filming under the hot sun?

As a videographer/photographer, you have to film under extreme weather conditions. Do you put sunscreen on your face when you're filming outdoors under the hot sun??

Yes, although we also hang a huge scrim up to defuse any direct sunlight so we're never really directly under the hot sun. I still wear a lot of sun screen because being from Northern Canada, my skin doesn't really handle sunlight well and I just burn very quickly.

Is there a market for lesbian porn? I mean are there studios in L.A. who do it? If you were given the chance would you film two women getting it on? And which you rather film if you had to - fake feminine 'lesbians' (for straight guys to get off to) or REAL butch lesbians?

If you had to either film or photograph a non-porn subject matter what would you choose? Would you ever try photojournalism, or the natural environment, or social affairs? There could always be documentaries or short subjects made of such things but I don't know if you have any interest.

There's a market for it but no, I wouldn't make it. A gay man knows fuck all about how lesbians have sex. I wouldn't find it interesting or compelling and... I don't have to take gigs that don't interest me.

I also do mainstream movies and stuff, too...

I did a comedy movie, I did a zombie sic-fi series, I've done potato chip commercials, music videos, I just did an exercise video...

I also have a side gig where a friend of mine and I shoot adult children interviewing their elderly parents to tell stories of their youth and how they met and how the family grew and bloomed... all their memories and family history. It's a very fun thing. That's honestly just a hobby. I love doing that so I manage to fit it in on weekends when I'm not shooting for Titan.

I also have a huge series of what I call "environmental video" where I shoot 2-hour static shots of the sunrise over an ocean or sunset over a desert or time-expanded city at night. I also have done things like shooting video underneath a huge coy pond.

Sorry, but what is a scrim??

Do you sweat easily when applying sunscreen on your face??

Regarding monitor, do you use the "already build into the camera" LCD monitor or do you use the " connect to the camera via a cable" monitor??

Do you use light meters ( incident light meter, reflective light meter) to determine how much light that you needed before lighting up a scene ??

like this.... except ours is about 20 feet by 20 feet.

It's a metal frame with white parachute fabric stretched over it. It defuses sunlight.

I don't think I sweat much from my face, no.

If I'm going to use a monitor, I'll bring a 1080p TV and port out my camera to check my image, but that's rare. I usually use my eye piece and the LCD screen. But I'll also usually record some video to an SD card, bring it into my laptop and make sure it looks good.

Hi Jasun,

is it true that when you shoot a series of scenes together (for a drama, ) the lighting must be constant and has the same look, mood and feel to it?

Example : if you shoot some parody porn drama series, some porn with story and acting in it...... you need to maintain the same kind of lighting throughout all the scenes, right??
