Are pornographers a pretty tight fellowship or, asking this another way, is there more rivalry within the profession than would be typical for other movie production units?

In all seriousness, you sent me that PM the same day you made a post about how you find the tone of my voice annoying. You have sent me some obnoxious PMs in the past, the last one was borderline threatening, and you stalk me from thread to thread acting like a passive aggressive douche bag. A couple weeks ago you made your avatar, custom status and signature an attack on my boss. It was like I was in some fucked up gay version of Mean Girls.

A week and a half ago you made a post in my "happy birthday thread" that said "Happy Birthday Loser."

You made a thread because you were upset that I didn't make a thread about Johnny Selleck and when I finally did, your first comment was about how you didn't like his hair.

I get 10-15 PMs a day. I have to do a mass delete every 2-3 months. At the moment I have 6 I haven't even read yet and it's only 7AM. You might find this shocking but you're not at the top of my list of priorities here at JUB when you're craving some of my attention.

Besides, the question you asked was one I'm sick and tired of answering and you've made it pretty clear you've already made up your mind on the topic, which leads me to believe you were just trying to start an argument with me for... some purpose.

If you really want to know, submit the same question to my blog where I answer questions on video for my readers.

Well I believe I just got a verbal spanking. You can keep all that and have just said "i'm busy" but glad you got all that off of your chest. I've been a lot nicer lately so I'll take all this into consideration.

You know it's really not fair that they named the smiley after him. I'm the one that puts him in his purse swinging fits. It should have been :sutlanandjasun:

It's why I make everything myself. I make my own ice cream, my own soda (yes, I have a soda maker that carbonates water and I mix my own flavours into it), my own soups and spreads.

It's a bit of a pain to have to buy my own peanuts and almonds and grind them into butter and it's time consuming to make 3 or 4 big batches of every saturday. I'm a little sick of making my own bread and finding a farmer's market where I can get cheese and eggs and organic produce can be a bother but let's not forget that I'm often mistaken for 10-15 years younger than I am.

Are you serious? Who has time to go through all that shit? Why not just buy organic? and how long have you been fructose free? I think everyone slips up every now and again. It's so hard to avoid.

Oh man.. it's hard to say.

Very hard.

There are a few people in the industry - some with very big sites - who, if they had the guts to show up at a convention, would get their lily asses kicked.

There are some studios that use such under-handed treatment of models that it blows me away.

But I'm good friends with people from Randy Blue, Sean Cody Fratmen, Titan, Raging Stallion, Hot House, NYSM, all the Next Door Buddies sites, Broke Straight Boys, Men Over 30, Manifest Men and I'm friendly with Chi Chi, Falcon, You Love Jack and a bunch of other sites.

For the most part, we all get along.

Dean Phoenix said something to me the other day that really broadsided me.

"Alcoholism is a disease of more."

So even if I'm not drinking, I do tend to be rather indulgent. I can be impulsive and addictive... I'll buy LOTS of books and cigars and shoes... Addictions are a life-long struggle and they manifest in some wild ways.

But I'm sober now, even if I joke about alcohol a lot.

Do you think you have to have a particular kind of brain to do the work you do? Or rather, a brain that functions in a particular kind of way?

The reason I ask this question is, I've assumed that you have to be particularly adept a compartmentalizing. You've managed to keep a marriage going for almost 20 years, apparently contentedly, and I have to further assume that the sex is still good, and yet you have quite sexualized interactions with other men on a fairly regular basis.

I understand how emotion, the love that you have for your husband, puts your sexual interations with him in a completely different category than the stuff you do on set, but my brain doesn't work that way and I don't think I could make it work that way. So I wondered if you think it's just a specialization of your brain or a very informed spirit or or or.

I'm sure this question or a form of it has been asked in here before, but I don't remember what you said.

How can the Canadian city which has probably been visited by more Canadians than any other, be "NOT Canada" by any kind of logic??? Must be a satirical question LOL.

I know some people who want to live till they are 100 whether they are in good health or not, just to watch the world change. Others I know do not want to live beyond 60, because they don't want to "look old"! lol.

A lot of people react with a "what does Carlo think of your job" horror or "does he get jealous" confusion. I don't get it. I mean, my life with him isn't just sex. And it isn't work.

When I'm a work, yes people are having sex and they're naked but I'm working.. it's a job. I don't really get turned on as much as excited. I love the content I make, I love the visuals that I create but it's not sex. It's art.

At home, it's a totally different thing. It's not about how it looks or how it's lit, I don't have to do things again to get a better shot in frame. And he makes me dinner. I mean that's gotta count for something.

What's with the blue light coming in from one side in so many porn videos?

People shooting in their living rooms and not realizing that there's a difference between tungsten and sunlight. One of the reasons that I loved working at Fratmen so much was John's use of natural light. It created problems but it also meant that everyone looked really natural and "real."

Totally. I love it. I mean, I can shoot videos with my iPod Nano and when I sync with my computer they automatically play on my Plasma TV. It all just happens without me having to do anything. I can just shoot videos while I'm directing, go home, sync and show my friends what I did.

I can buy TV shows and if I'm in the mood for a Yoga class, I just go onto my TV and find a yoga class podcast and download it for free. And don't get me started on how fun it is to play "watch that Youtube Video"

Even on something like this, which looks like a blue spotlight instead of just ambient skylight from a window?

I see this blue light frequently in videos and I think it's unattractive.

Yeah, that's just what that looks like.

The blueish natural light coming in at a near-90 degree angle. That's almost always caused by someone not taking these steps...

1. Block out the windows.

2. If you can't block out windows, use blue or "sky" lights as your primary lighting source to match the natural light.

3. White Balance. You can't just grab a camera and start shooting. You need to white balance your video so you don't end up with everything with that "bluish" or "reddish" tinge. The worst is when there's too much yellow light and everything looks faded and dull. There's almost no way to fix that in post.

Can reflected (day-)light e.g. from brightly colored wallpaper ever cause any problems for filming?
