Can reflected (day-)light e.g. from brightly colored wallpaper ever cause any problems for filming?

Brightly coloured wallpaper can cause a problem even if there's no light reflected off of it.

But yes... any ambient light that doesn't match the temperature of your primary light source causes that awful duality that looks... like that.

Not sure any person in porn has a right to criticize how others treat their models when it seems all pornographers take advantage of some of their models, usually by forcing themselves on them. Perhaps Jake Cruise, Muggs and Hancock and others justify this by putting themselves in the videos and paying the models, but the end result is that the employer is having sex with the employee who tends to me years if not decades younger. What's worse, these older guys also force the models into unprotected sex.

Perhaps it has already happened but I suspect a model will contract HIV and sue one of these sites and then the gov't will shut them down.

Yeah, just someone talking out of their ass not knowing why they're talking about. Nobody forces themselves on models. Some guys want to work with Jake, some don't. Some want to do guy/guy some only want guy/girl. If we want to work with a model, we'll work with him under those terms.

People project a lot of their own insecurities, ignorance an fears onto porn. I'm used to it.

Some studios use rather underhanded tactics to get models to perform. But
none I've worked for.

i am only assuming that a shoot for one of the videos can take several hours to complete. i am also assuming that non-stop sex is not happening during all that time as a lot of different stuff needs setting up. given these assumptions, what do models often do during the 'down-time', and, do you guys provide food (snacks, lunch, dinner) etc. if so, what?

No, that's a good questions.

The answer is "how long is a piece of rope?"

Some shoots go bang through from beginning to end with virtually no stopping. There have been a bunch that including still pictures took well under two hours. Bo Dean's first SG4GE scene was done in one continuous shot.

There have been some shoots that took over 5. Yes, there are lots where you stop and take breaks and the models can go grab a shower or food or just hang out, while we review footage, change the sheets, block out what we want to do next or sometimes just sit back and read a book.

We do have a fully-stocked fridge and cabinet, we'll take the guys out for food after.

I have entered my "too busy to give a shit" phase. I think anyone.. gay/straight/bi who is in a committed relationship but has sex behind their partner's back is a letch. But I can't live anyone else's life.

I moved down to work for Fratmen. I stayed there for 4 years before moving on to Jake Cruise. It was a very scary thing and I almost chickened out. Best decision I ever made in my life.

Just like me? You probably won't. And why would you want to? Besides, I'm not sure my life is "exciting," exactly.

But I've always said that people with boring lives chose them. People who enjoy life do so not by accident but because they took the chances and made the changes necessary to have a life worth living.
