I call him by his real name, usually. Unless we're talking about the character. Like if we're shooting a scene I always call the guys by their porn names. Once the cameras go off, it's real names.

As an aside... I'm now wishing I had used a porn name from the beginning because my porn life and real life have recently collided in a way that isn't... nice.

The only other guy I know who uses his real name is François Sagat.

Using your real name is just begging for trouble.

The reason I use my real name is that I never planned to make porn movies. I was introduced to the porn world as "the other guy at Fratmen who hosts some of the live shows and answers the phone at the office." I expected to be an editor and maybe a director but never a performer. I don't think I expected to be out in front like I've suddenly found myself.

Sadly, it means that I was a bit too nice and added all my Facebook friend requests and it wasn't long before freaks were sending creepy messages to my husband or posting inappropriate stuff on my wall. It also meant that people's hormones got the better of them and they'd send me downright bizarre messages like "I'm going to be in Los Angeles next week, give me your cell number so we can set up a time for you to come fuck me" or "I think your hot and I want to suck your dick. You want to come to my hotel or can I come to the Jake Cruise studio?"

One guy sent an email to my husband asking for "pictures of you having sex with Jasun Mark." He's like... "I don't have any pictures and I wouldn't give them out if I did." The guy didn't take no for answer and suggested that he come over to our house and get him bed with my husband and wait for me to come home to "see what his reaction would be... it will be hot and funny."

People are insane.

One guy sent me an email to my work address with grainy, poorly-lit cell phone pictures of his private parts (like I don't know what an ass looks like) and said he wanted me to fuck him. Yes. If LA is what you want. I like living in Silverlake which is a very Bohemian community north west of Downtown and east of Hollywood. I like riding my motorcycle in the mountains and desert, beaches and countryside... It's realy something that's NOT ok. I realy hope that it get's less by time. To be honnest, I like you as a person and sharing beds is something I wouldn't mind too. But you're maried and I respect your choice in this all.

Um... most of it no. But some of it... people contacting my husband and asking him for naked pictures? Yeah.. that did surprise me.

Which proves I've learned nothing from the last studio that I worked for where people proved themselves of being so unhinged at times that I just shake my head at the things they come up with and believe (and then come back to JUB to report as fact).
 
I have a couple of guy friends that are really interested in getting into the business and want to know what is the best way to go about it. How long is a piece of rope?

I mean, it depends on what they want to do... hardcore, solo, top, bottom, online, DVD studios... It's all different. Best advice... just decide which sites or studios you'd like to work for, find their on-line applications and send in pictures that show body, face and dick.

Generally the studio creates a character that they "own." We're personally fine if say... Leo Giamani (who started on Jake Cruise) wants to take the name we gave him and continue to work using it. But other studios want to own the character's name and bio.
