  • Hi Guest - Did you know?

Ask the Pornographer (Mark III)

When you were working for Fratmen, how did the company find its guys? To what degree does Fratmen "groom" these guys to fit the look its selling, or to these men just walk in the door perfect for a shoot?

That might be a hard sell. Female fandom is still a niche within a niche.

so it would be a small audience.

Well, I don't know about that. I think the potential audience is a lot bigger than you might think. The problem is the marketing, and some adjustments to the product are necessary, but the audience IS there, trust me. It just hasn't been tapped into yet.

Although I don't work there anymore, model scouting secrets are one of those "do not touch" areas that I don't want to talk about.

But if you're a member of Fratmen, you'll remember countless videos and still pictures of me taking the guys to get hair cuts, buy new clothes, getting mani-pedis. I always found it funny that me - a guy who wears nothing but black jeans and black T-shirts and shaves his head - was the stylist for a site like Fratmen.

Our regular hair dresser used to joke about how I was her #1 customer of all time and I didn't have hair.

That said... You can't do much if the guys aren't hot to begin with. And they were (although I'll never forget having to dye Jayden's hair because of some really bad blond highlights and how Sam literally burst into tears when we were getting his hair cut.)

Have you considered selling that black t shirt from your "pay back's a bitch" video, um, shoot?

:=D:

Two questions for one of my fave JUBbers. ;)

If you ever go back to your home town in Canada for a visit, what sort of feelings do you have for the place?

Did you have a favourite relative, like an auntie or uncle or whatever, who understood you more?

You mentioned in an earlier post, that you were adopted. Have you ever, or have you ever felt the need to, seek out your "birth family"? I have a friend who was adopted, had a messed up childhood. He went seeking his birth family when he was an adult, just to find out they were even more fucked up than his adopted parents.......

What's your favourite Canadian province (or would you never want to set foot up here again)?

Have you ever had a scene made hotter by the fact that the guys involved had a major hate on for each other?

Meh. I mean, i grew up in New Brunswick and I think it's possibly the ugliest, smelliest, most boring most scarred and hideous part of Canada. It's like America's West Virginia without the charming people.

I spent my summers in Prince Edward Island and I really liked that but I have no interest in going back.

I miss Toronto, I guess. Although I miss Toronto when I go to where it used to be. My city has been replaced by a huge condo development and flashing billboard.

I dont' want to name the models but one of the more popular scenes I directed had two guys who didn't "hate" each other but they weren't even remotely attracted to each other and didn't like each other much, either.

I was on a schedule and was shooting the scene outside and I had to get it done before the sun moved too much. I somehow managed to pull or PRY performances out of them.

As a trivial aside, I understand there's editing software available that automatically makes day shadows consistent. I found this out after filming a post-car-accident scene all afternoon one day and saying "but this is going to be a mess because the shadows are all different!" I was laughed to scorn (well, more gently than that) by the film students, who told me they could fix that in something like four clicks.

I don't think the software is expensive, but I don't know its details, either. If you want to know more, PM me and I'll ask my film student friends.
