I once saw a "gay" site made by a straight company called "Twinks Pounded."

But the site was a disaster. The skunk in the hole, of course, was that no matter how good the main content was or wasn't, the site also featured a drag queen. Segments with naked guys reading news would be interrupted by a horrifying 6-foot drag queen named "Enza Supermodel" who would walk through the streets of Toronto asking people in the street (mostly women) all sorts of stupid questions. It was humiliating and annoying and not funny. Most of all it was the antithesis of porn.

Potential customers would go to the landing page and front and center was a drag queen. Virtually no gay men find drag queens sexually attractive and most find them to be a boner kill. I'd estimate that I would remember the site, get horny enough to check it out, see the drag queen on the landing page and close the window no longer in the mood.
