I saw somebody ask you, S, whether you wished you could have gone to St. Louis over the weekend, but I don't think I saw your answer. (I may have read too fast.) I think that everybody there had a great time. It's probably not as easy for you to get away for vacations/recreation as it used to be - you have a lot more duties than you used to have, I think?

Heal up soon, and get yourself back to 100% - ouch!!
 
Meh... it would be fun to meet people and let them see what a bizarrely normal person I am.

But at the same time yeah.. taking some time off would be great. My duties are huge but I'm the kind of guy who needs to be kept busy.

John's biggest challenge with me is keeping my focused on what I'm doing and not trying to take on more or get involved with what everyone else is doing. I come up with great ideas and I always have trouble finishing them before wanting to move onto a new project.

I'm not alone.. John can be guilty of biting off more than he can chew as well.. I'd like to think it's the hallmark of the go-getter.. always thinking forward.. always wanting to move onto the next task.

As far as my recovery... I swing back and forth between putting on an overly-brave face and saying that I'll be turning cartwheels in no time to being a bit fatalist and remembering that my surgeon told me that there IS a possibility that the nerve damage will never heal and that I may never get 100% recovery.

Truth is that my prognosis is very good.. It's just a dislocated arm which will just take a couple months to heal and a fractured bone in my shoulder which will take some time to heal.

I'll always be susceptible to dislocations from here on in and I'm told I'll need some physical therapy. My belief is that everything happens for a reason and that one should be very careful of what one wishes for... you just might get it.

I was recently bemoaning how my recent weight loss and workout regimen had become tiresome and how I had lost 35 lbs but still didn't have the body I wanted... I said that I really wanted to have a reason to motivate myself to work out.

Surgeon-prescribed physical therapy is pretty much what I asked for, I guess.

So now I have to deal with it... means that I'll have to be more careful on my bike.. means I'll have to be less cocky and means I'll have to accept that I have responsibilities which won't get looked after if I'm unable to hold a camera in one hand and use the other one to direct the action.

It's cool. I'll deal.
 
^ were you riding a motor bike most of the time before the injury or mainly using cars ?
 
Why don't you like using cars or because the bike is quicker to move in the traffic jam.
 
Did you post how the accident happened? I must have missed that.
 
just a little tumble. honestly, I wasn't even going fast... car in front of me stalled.. I went down trying to avoid it.
 
Have you ever had a serious accident on your motorcycle? Do you ever think that you will one day (maybe after your 50th accident? :)) say "I've had enough? " and start using mainly your car? (I am the opposite of you....I could NEVER get on one of those things; too much of a wuse :))

This is the most serious... not being able to use your arm for two months is pretty serious.

So I guess this is the new #1 accident.

and no... I can't wait to get back on the bike.

I'm pissed I can't be on it today.

I dont' do Disney.

1) there are heterosexuals there in numbers I'm not comfortable with.

2) there are children allowed off their leashes. UNMUZZLED children. yeah, no.

3) there are happy people.

4) there are people who like Disney.

5) there are people who LIKE Disney.

6) the air would smell like cotton candy, popcorn, cheap perfume and vacationing Republicans.

I'd sooner go swimming naked in the shark feeding ground.
