Hey there Jasun, I shiver everytime I see your manly hairy body, and I watched your youtube video talking about body hair and adored it! :)
1. Do you have an armpit fetish? have you ever had any funny or weird experience including armpits?
2. who was the hairiest guy you've ever been with or filmed, how hairy was he? how was it?

love your work! :)

I have always loved hairy arm pits. Always been a thing of mine but no funny or Weird experiences I can think of other than years ago when I was working at a bar and a co worker asked me to shave his pits before we opened. *I didn't have any shaving cream so I just licked his arm pits and used that... He was shocked but told me it was one of the hottest and most unexpected things he'd ever experienced.

I think probably Arpad Miklos is the hardiest guy I can think of that I've shot but my husband is 5 times hardier than he is. *Yum.

What's with the performers flipping off the camera? Not so much in videos but in still photos. You see that more and more these days. They give the camera the finger. Is that a new ritual? What are they trying to express to the viewer?

I honestly haven't seen that one.

I remember them doing that in the Old Reliable stills but I haven't seen that much since. I think I got one of Bo Dean doing that but it was more of a candid shot that we weren't planning on using.

I guess they're trying to say something... maybe... I don't know, I've never really understood that, either. I'm kinda surprised to hear it's coming back.

Is your mother proud of you?

Why aren't there any publicly traded gay porn companies?

What's the future of gay porn?

Why doesn't Betty White run for president?

Is your mother proud of you?

Yes. It took my parents a while to understand my career choices and the industry I work in but a visit to my office at the fratmen studio did wonders and when they saw how much joy I got from my job and saw me traveling around the world and really enjoying what I was doing, they took a few sheepish looks and my work and agreed that yes, thesis what I should be doing.*

What my mother specifically said was "I am so proud that you just shrugged off all the nasty shit that has been thrown at you for your whole life, found a job that makes you this happy and excited to go to work and don't care if people approve of it or not. That's just what I would have wanted for you."

Why aren't there any publicly traded gay porn companies?

Adding share holders to the mix is begging for trouble. Making porn is a very delicate balance and when you have clueless share holders trying to guide small online ventures it never ends well. Going public is for companies that want to be mega corporations. Gay porn is way too niche for that.*

What's the future of gay porn?*

People asked me that seven years ago (here and at a convention where i was on a panel) and my answer was (I'm not making this up) that the all-encompassing mega-sites would fade away and be replaced by smaller and more specific sites, the ones I named specifically were fratmen (before I worked there) and Corbin Fisher. They were both small new-comers at the time, so... I was right.*

I said that you were going to see, as the technology improved, live shows from models on pay sites and i was right about that. I also said that the trend of "straight men having gay sex" was going to get so big that it would eclipse gay men having gay sex. It has.

I said that the "reality sites" like bait bus would explode. A year later there were about 30 copy cats, few of which lasted. But 7 years later, look at how bait bus is back along with haze him, out in public, rub him, unglory hole, sausage party and countless others.

I also said that the big DVD studios would slowly turn away from hard goods and start to go online. I said that we were going to see an iTunes model where you could have a membership but buy scenes or movies a la carte. With the introduction of Corbin's new download to own site and similar ventures by Titan and jake cruise, you can see I was right about that, too.

I also said that once cell phone technology got better that people would want streaming to their devices which would kill porn on DVD. That's also happening.

So I feel I've got enough right to say that we're going to see the iTunes model go nuclear. Sites will offer individual scenes for a couple of dollars, full movies for maybe $10 and special edition movies with lots of bonus material for maybe $15. You'll see much more "community" feelings building up. More interaction between members and models and site owners.

Oh... You know what else I said?

I said, 7 years ago, that "link me all over has just changed their name to just us boys, and in about a year or so, they're going to own the gay Internet."

Why doesn't Betty White run for president?

Too many sex scandals.

I am put off by the way okra/"lady's fingers" goes slimey when cooked, so never tried it. Is there any vegetable which you've heard about which puts you off eating them?

Then you're cooking it wrong. There are a lot of vegetables that are gross when you cook them the wrong way but are wonderful when cooked right.

But I'll never like mushrooms to matter what.

I'd love to see more credits given in porn. Editors and cameramen are just as important as the performers to making it hot.

Why no credits? Is a porn credit not considered "career-enhancing"?

The big studios do give credits. I'm in the credits for the new Francois Sagat movie and will be for many of the ones after that.

I agree... I'd like to see more credits because I often spot people's style in things.

Having that credit could be career-enhancing, you never know. Maybe you're interviewing with Steven Spielberg, James Cameron or Tim Burton for a new big-budget flick, and in the course of the interview he stops suddenly and says, "Oh, Jasun Mark! I was wondering why that rang a bell. Great cum shots on Fratmen. All I need to know. You're hired!"

You mentioned before something to the effect of your blog "pays the mortgage." Was that just a figure of speech, or can you really make a sizeable chunk of change from a blog? How does the blog income compare to your traditional studio income?

I'm now not only one of three men in gay porn who are trained to shoot in 3D, I have be director of photography for 7 3D porn scenes (from Dominic Ford's So you Think You Can Fuck series) and for that reason alone I was approached by a guy who's working for one of the major Hollywood studios on a new action adventure movie. I turned it down because I just can't imagine being a cog in a machine like that.

I have found that talking about how much money I make kinda makes me look like a douchebag.

And I'm comfortable with that.

Last year, my blog accounted for roughly 55% of my total income which is, shall we say, "significant."

Mind you... I work my ass off on my blog. It's not just a hobby, I spend roughly 20 hours a week posting or promoting or shooting content and that's in addition to my gigs that give me access to the men and industry and activities worth blogging about. I wasn't kidding when I said my blog pays for my house and cars and motorcycles and trips and presents for pretty boys, but I also work 7 days a week, up to 18 hours a day.

so... it's a trade off.

I haven't had an actual day off since July and that was because I had the flu.

^But would you prefer it any other way? Do you enjoy what you are doing enough to love it every day?

About two months ago when we were just wrapping up production on Francois Sagat's Incubus, I was driving four of the stars back to their hotels when my parents called me.

I hadn't told them I'd left my previous job yet so I explained everything I'd been doing.

My father said "this is the happiest I've heard you in years."

So the answer is no/yes.

No, I would not have it any other way and yes, I love it every single day.

How do you make money from your blog? Who pays you?

How do you make money from your blog? Who pays you?

There are a bunch of different ways, the biggest being traffic sales. You can also buy ad space along the side banner.

I want to make sure that nobody thinks I plug anything that I don't actually like. I know there are bloggers out there who get paid a fortune to promote a product that they don't use or wouldn't buy but I'm not one of them.

I could make a lot more if I did.

I've turned down literally tens of thousands of dollars from companies like penis enlargement pills, penis enlargement devices, rent boy sites, gay resort ads, diet pills... I've also had sites ask me to blog about them and if I like the site, I will, but if I don't... I won't. It's caused a few bruised feelings when I've had to say "no, I don't like your site, I won't mention it."

I should point out, by the way, that the one gay resort I plug constantly is Island House. I have done a few freelance jobs for them, most notably being the Island House After Dark series that I edited and wrote the music for. THAT I got paid for but it had nothing to do with my blog. I go there all the time because I really do love it there and I blog about it because the blog is about my life and my career. So when I left Jake Cruise last August and decided to take a month off, go to Key West and stay at Island House and do some writing, redesign my blog, read a few books and just relax, I posted about it on my own, I didn't get any money for that.

(mind you, while I was down there I ran into Dominic Ford and instead of relaxing, I ended up working with the guys on So You Think You Can Fuck so it's not like I got much writing, reading or blog designing done. And since the shoot was a secret, I couldn't blog about it. So.... I didn't get much traction out of that trip. And it only lasted about 8 days before I got a call from Titan asking if I'd want to come hang out with them in Palm Springs on a shoot that was also a secret and turned out to be Francois Sagat's Incubus which I also couldn't blog about until 6 weeks later when it was announced. So my readers got two months of me jabbering about my dogs.)

Have you ever met or worked with Tim Kruger? He's one of the very few pornstars whose name I know () but from what little I've seen of him, he's really great at doing hot scenes.

Have you ever met or worked with Matthew Rush? I like him as well. Those two are about as far as I can get with name recognition of gay pornstars I'm afraid.

Are there any high-profile British pornstars who have come over to the States, or do they mostly stay here and work for whatever gay studios we have? (I've no idea where the gay porn in this country is produced, lol!)

We've talked but never met in person. I would crawl over broken glass to get to that man.

He and I have met many times at events and shows. He's really nice, funny, friendly and has zero attitude. Even when he had no idea who I was, he was aways so nice to me that I was almost taken aback.

We sort of got to work together on So You Think You Can Fuck. Meaning that we both worked on it although not directly with each other. But He's a great guy. I like him a lot.

oh for sure. I have worked with Dean Monroe a few times and Kennedy Carter works here in America a lot. There are a lot of hot British men who work for Titan and a few of the other major studios.
