Funny, I always assumed the opposite. Literally, the first time I saw it I thought it was a sign of something wrong with the person. Like, you'd only ever see it in extreme fetish porn, and only if you could find incredibly desperate porn actors who you pressured into it in exchange for their next dose of crack or something. It never dawned on me that anyone would willingly do it. I thought it was either an urban legend, some extreme or unbalanced fetish, or just a lie made up about gay people by religious fundamentalists.
