Re: PS3 Assassin's Creed

just beat this game the other day.

it was awesome.

the story is a tad convoluted and of course nothing will get answered until the inevitable sequel...

but overall, it was a great experience.

its like GTA, but medieval themed.

Good times!

Pretty much tells you all you need to know about Assassins Creed. Also these are really the only reviews I actually listen to.
Yes, Yahtzee has quickly become a celebrity in the video game world. Creed must be considerably above average if he says it's good (although only "bronze medal" good.) The only game I've seen him rave about is Portal (remember, this guy would rather stab his own eyeballs than rave about anything.)

Re: Assassin's Creed - Worst Review Ever Made

Better that "Leave Britney alone". How was the name of that one again?

Re: Hollywood doesn't like Assassins Creed movie deal.

Same deal with the WoW movie. I heard Uwe Boll wanted to make it. Blizzard said "fuck off" .. and rightfully so. Videogame movies in general suck because of those deals .. many companies are just happy that someone does want to make a movie, and the movie companies hope for easy profit despite a low budget.

Re: Hollywood doesn't like Assassins Creed movie deal.

The Resident Evil movie series is one of the most successful game-to-movie adaptations, and yet there's so much that is wrong with it.

They took a franchise with copious quantities of juicy backstory and kinda… ignored it. Released one movie per canonical game would've been such an awesome way to treat the series, but I've found the story they've made up for the movies can't really go anywhere. It's more like, oh, now we're on an island and we need to run and gun our way out.

As an example outside games, My Sister's Keeper author Jodi Picoult was upset when Hollywood changed the ending of her story in their movie adaptation. Having given them the rights, she couldn't do anything about it. Hence, Hollywood-style movie to an otherwise tragic story.

Good on Ubisoft for maintaining control.

Re: Hollywood doesn't like Assassins Creed movie deal.

I think Ubisoft deserves alot of creative control but I also think they can play ball just a little bit with the movie studios such as letting them choose when to release it.

I mean, the next Peter Jackson could be waiting just around the corner. All he needed to do what he did was a helpful studio to give him what he needed.

Course, it's easy to understand why Ubisoft are gun shy. Video game movies are routinely awful

Good on Blizzard.

I wouldn't trust Uwe Boll to film paint dry.

Assassin's Creed III

Any gamers here currently going through this game?

I started a day or so ago, and I am finding it harder to get into than AC2. I am also finding the controls and instructions are quite glitchy and not at all clear.

Anyone else share the view?

Re: Assassin's Creed III

hi,
i think it's a good game. but AC2 is still my fav. like you said, it's hard to get into the storyline. Some movements he makes are indeed glitchy but I try not to bother myself to them.

Re: Assassin's Creed III

I had a friend already beat it so it can't be worth the $60.

Re: Assassin's Creed III

i just finished it in 4 days. I think it was worth the money, but hey, that's just me.

Re: Assassin's Creed III

is it much better than AC1? because i found that incredibly boring and repetitive not far from the beginning of the game. Ive never played AC2 either, fearing the fact that it might have been as bad as the first, but the third looks decent, ive heard theres some good ocean movement on the ships.

Re: Assassin's Creed III

the first assassins creed was repetitive and boring, it was the same 'Eavesdrop, informant, chase" missions in ever single city. they dramatically changed that with Assassins creed 2/brotherhood/revelations.
