It's sad, but it comes with the myth that you can't get HIV from topping.

Many naive people believe this, sad but true. I once dated a guy who believed this, needless to say I always made him wear a condom.

Not to mention it's a real turnoff when people say they don't use condoms.

No. I'm very serious. I have barebacked with about 7 guys in the past over 3 years. Some who didn't want to use a condom and i wasn't man enough to say no and some times me not wanting to use it and asking the guy if he was clean just to help make myself feel better about it.

But i should just stop letting either one happen and just go safe all the way.

i admit i have a thing about condoms and what the represent.

I am also not ashamed to say i have been in a very weak place in my life but it's no reason to not do better...i think that is all any of us can do, so i will.

I've notcied a weird trend over the past couple of years or so, where the "barebacking community" are becoming more and more vocal about their enjoyment and active pursuit of sex minus condoms. The porn industry seems to be full of new barebacking too. I wonder why in this day and age, witch all the information about safe sex and HIV there is out there, do men still choose to actively pursue these dangerous sexual acts? I just don't get it.

Fine, if you're in a loving, committed relationship and everyone's clean go for it. But the level of apathy towards people's own satey and the safety of the person they are fucking seems to be completely dismissed.

Have people simply lost all respect for human life these days?

You answered your own question. They enjoy it. They don't like sex with condoms - either because they feel it diminishes their enjoyment, or they feel it intrudes on the act, or they get a thrill out of barebacking. But if they're going in with eyes open, that's their choice.

Also, being positive is considered by some (not all) to be a chronic illness. Something you can easily negate by taking a pill or two.
