"They just did this out of anger and frustration behind a lifestyle," Wagner said.
Way to fuel the haters #-o

No one was harmed and I'm sure insurance will cover damages.

That said, I doubt the police are investigating diligently.

"No one was harmed and I'm sure insurance will cover damages" !!!!!!!!!!

It's like having your home trashed in a robbery - It does harm the victim/s (the trite term is "feeling violated"

I also lay "odds on" that many of the victims would not have comprehensive insurance

I do hope it wasn't a "hate crime" and stems from issues to do with injudicious use of someones property????

^^ Oh, don't think for one minute the ones who committed the crimes should be excused. That wasn't my point.

My point was because there was no physical injury, I question the police's diligence in investigating the crime.

I hate to say this; is there a gay seral rapist in that area ? Could the two be related?

That sucks! I feel for all the victims. EJ's was my favorite bar when I lived in Houston. I can just imagine coming out to my 'Vette with flat tires. They have a parking lot and normally have security, but like most bars parking over flows to neighboring lots. Does anyone know which lot it happened in? I hope to visit Houston in the next few months and don't want to park in the wrong lot.

PS - The Chronicle sucks! Also funny that this happens at the same time as the gay bashing murderers are getting out of jail. 16 years for going to the Montrose (gay area of town) looking to gay bash, isn't enough when murder is involved. The number one state for capital punishment lets these guys off easy. What BS.

I found another article on a gay site that described the parking lot as behind the bar. The only two parking lots that are behind the bar are the paved parking lot that is clearly part of the bar and the adjoining gravel lot, which is owned by the owner of the bar. This is also the only place that makes sense that that many cars would be parked on a Monday night, therefore I think the article is mistaken when they say it was not the bar's parking lot. As I noted before, when I lived there they normally had the bar security watch the parking lot. I'm not sure if that changed now or maybe they don't do that on a Monday night. I'm not trying to blame the bar, I'm just stating where the it appears the problem occurred. I think it also gets rid of the theory that someone didn't like where people were parking and puts it back to being a hate crime. I'm sure EJ's will have security in the lot now.

That really sucks and all, "car vandals" are just assholes. Well at least it wasn't "bashing" or murder that's a positive. Could have been worst, they're only physical posessions, nothing that insurance and money can't fix.
