Can anyone recommend a good, and simple to use, cd ripper?

One that can be installed on a usb thumb drive and that can encode in lame mp3 would be awesome...

I use Exact Audio Copy, the favorite of music traders. . . .

It can encode with lame into mp3s, but is expressly used to make lossless versions with FLAC. You might check out Trader's Little Helper, too.

I'll guess I'll try audiograbber then.

I'd go with EAC, but I'm horrible at working a command line, but I've also heard it's pretty much the best one out there...

If audiograbber doesn't do it for me I suppose I'll just use EAC.

Thanks for you're replies!

EAC itself is not command line - it's a graphical interface for sure! :) You can see some screenshots at its website. Admittedly, not as cosmetically beautiful as Audiograbber (or other apps), but it won't strand you in the command line world. If you want to pass special parameters to, say, the LAME MP3 encoder (via command line), you can support that with EAC, but you don't have to.
