Re: Austin, Texas mini-meet August 02, 2008

Yeah, I didn't take that many pictures, but I could easily tell the difference between those that I took sober, and those where I had had a few.

GL247, either looking content, or just "over it."

Re: Austin, Texas mini-meet August 02, 2008

I got better the next day though, and too bad I didn't take any group shots!

IMO, Texas hasn't really had a Governor worth their salt since Ann Richards.

Along the walls inside the Rotunda are oil portraits going all the way back to the Presidents of the Texas Republic.

G.W. can suck my ass, so we only included "Ann" in the pictures taken of Texas' past "heads of state."

Only three levels of the Rotunda are open to the "regular" public, and this pic is from the third level looking down toward the terrazzo floor of depicting the Six Flags of Texas interwoven amongst a Lone Star. The large pink headed phallic symbols (presented earlier in this thread) show you to the door!

Looking up toward the "top of the dome" from the third level of the Rotunda.

I've only been to the fourth, and fifth levels once within my lifetime, and each of those were either by appointment, or through connections. <snicker, I don't "kiss and tell">

The guy in the blue shirt is our friend GL247, standing across from me on the third level of the Rotunda taking a one of the pics that he's shared with us here:

This is one of the things that I shared with Sausy; throughout the entire State of Texas there are "Texas Historical Markers," perhaps thousands of them, that denote either a historical person, place, event, or something of physical significance.

This is the Texas Historical Marker for the "Texas Capital."

Here's an archival photo pulled off the internet of "The Goddess of Liberty" before she was lifted atop the Rotunda somewhere around 1887 (to this day they don't know how they got her up there. During the restoration of the Capital that took place in the early 1990's she was "airlifted" by helicopter to get her back up there):

What a memorable weekend, and I appreciate y'all letting GL and myself share some of our Texas "Pride" with each of you. (*8*)

Hey,I didn't notice those phallic symbols!!!!oops!:(:cry:Nobody said,"Hey,John....look!" or hell I would have snapped a picture or two just for posteriority and irony of it!:DMy computer connection fucked up again after I briefly came on before having dinner,:grrr:but fortunately the cable guy will be here this morning to replace the damn thing.back with y'all later,my Jersey mouth has to put in my two cents about the weekend....*fingers and toes crossed*

Cable guy came and did next to nothing...couldn't get on yesterday evening at all!:grrr:I've got another appointment scheduled for Friday,so to give my belated thoughts before my computer inevitably cuts out again today on the weekend in Austin:

God it was so brief but I had so much fun!I am so happy I came down to Austin and met with some really great people.

Centexfarmer has such great love and dedication to Texas and its history. He led us on a tour of the State Capitol Building and what an awesome experience!that is truly a momumental building, and he gave us so many interesting facts and perspectives as we walked through the Capitol that just made the tour more special and meaningful.I'm so glad we had the opportunity to do the tour, and look at a couple of the historical markers outside.

He is a great storyteller and had us in stitches, what a great sense of humor....loved his Irish guy in a Texas bar joke.Jesus,Mary and Joseph...that was funny! It was a pleasure to be here for your 16th anniversary of your 29th birthday!

GL is as much fun in person as on the boards, maybe even more so!He is such a warm, caring and fun person I didn't even mind his beloved DisAstros doing a number on my equally beloved Mets and sweeping them!;)A lot of passion and principle too....he's a sweet, great guy I am so glad to have had the opportunity to see again.Like centex his family has longstanding Texas roots and you can tell the love and pride he has for Texas. We spent time talking and catching up in his, centex and RO's room and I just wish we all had more time to get to do that...conversations with you guys could go on forever and never stop being fun.

RO is adorable, sweet, funny and in so many ways a wizened old soul in a young man's body.He may look innocent, but he's also got the wicked sense of humor I love in GL and centex. He's a great guy and I'm happy to have had the opportunity to see him again.

BBCseven is so adorable!I'm glad you met us for the dinner and the partying afterwards at Oil Can Harry's....I had fun and it was a pleasure to meet you and I enjoyed talking with you and getting to know you a little more.

All I can say about texpatriot is that to call him a cum loving slut(or something to that effect as centex affectionately refers to him) is an insult to cum loving sluts!:pThat tease!!!;)

To all of you guys for such a great weekend celebrating such a great guy's birthday(group)

I tell you, that cab ride to the restaurant was awkward,to say the least.Centex trying to engage the cabby in conversation, but that cabby wasn't friendly at all.Glad to get out of the cab and take in the street life around the restaurant and Oil Can Harry's.What a great restorative job that was done there, loved the architecture and a some of the taller buildings were really beautiful.

What eye candy at OCH!I had plenty of mind orgasms with the hotness of the patrons and the staff.Centex suggested I get a shot of cowboy cocksucker and I got one from a really cute shotboy named Brandon(so many of those guys claim they're straight though.....well,in centex's words"straight...to bed!");)I tell you that cowboy cocksucker went down smooth! It really was good and enjoyed those textures in my mouth!:gogirl:

I got to meet Chad the former shotboy(now bartender) with centex and GL!!!(!)He was more clothed than the last time GL and centex saw him;) but you can still notice those nice arms and heroic, all American wholesome type face on such a hot body is really a waking wet dream!I even got to take the shot of him with centex and GL and shake his hand!!!:gogirl:Okay,it's not as good as getting to pat that rock of a stomach or "accidentally" get a feel of da butt like GL did last time they were here, yet still I will never forget how exciting it was!!!:gogirl:;)And the best thing is he remembered them and created a special drink just for us,which was really good and I naturally suggested to name it "the Hanging Chad"!It was really nice to meet him and he is a really good guy besides the undeniable hotness. Not stuck up or full of himself but a real genuine guy, which makes him all the more appealing as a person....he claims to be straight(to bed) and I tell you the girl or (guy...hell he may wake up and smell the latte someday) he winds up with will be very fortunate indeed!..|

Sausy, I gotta tall ya, you are so much fun to hang out with, and to BE with, that from this moment forward no JUB Meet would be complete without your presence, your smile, and your perspective on things.

What a genuine guy that you are! (*8*)

I just wish that, considering the distance that you traveled to be in Austin last weekend, that each of us had more time to spend there showing (and sharing) the wonder that IS Austin, Texas. :D

Thank you so much for taking the time to come down and to share the making of my "Sweet 16" the memorable weekend that it was. :luv:

When it comes to friends here, you are MOST DEFINATELY a part of my "inner circle." (*8*)

See ya in San Antonio! (!)

sausy! thank you for being a total sweet heart, for your kind words and for coming all the way down to austin to hang out with us (you win the award for furthest to travel). ;)

but most importantly thank you for your friendship. (*8*)

Aw thanks, Sausy (*8*) It was great getting to hang out with you again, and I'm really glad you were able to come down and spend the weekend with us! I hope the Texas heat didn't bother you too much. At least it wasn't too cold for the OCH staff to be "over dressed." lol
Same to you,RO!(insert hugs)That Texas heat actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be,almost tolerable(insert winkie smilie)

Oh yes, lots of hot staff properly casually semi dressed,as it should be!(insert winkie smilie here)I tell ya,RO is a great dancer, btw, those floor drops he does.....I try some of the stuff he can do,I'd be in traction for a week!(insert laughing out loud smilie, winkie smilie, plus find a thrown out your back one)!

I'm so glad we all had the opportunity to tour the State Capitol building(insert thumbs up smilie)....what a great part of Texas(and American) history and the depth of knowledge and joy that was so evident in sharing it really impressed on me,Preston.I had so much fun learning and appreciating the history of this immense Texas jewel, and some overall Texas history as well.(Insert happy smilie here)
