Australian accents

I've noticed that a lot of people on the boards here express a love of the accents we Aussies have. i like an accent as much as the next guy, but never realised mine could work for me. It seems to have just struck me that i did get a lot more attention when i was in the US in May on my holiday.....

Maybe i should move there. I'd probably get a few more roots!

To the OP: yeah but you would have to learn the prevailing lingo - "root" is australian/nz I believe and not used anywhere else so people might think it's something out in yard as in a root...

apparantly, a lot of people who aren't aus/nz, it's hard to pic the difference. strange to hear i know, considering we both make fun of each others accents so much for being different.

It definitely would but it wouldn't be fair to give all the credit to your accent. Your "come and fuck me" look deserve some credit as well.

I'll be honest with you, it's among my least favourite on the whole. I mean, there are some which are quite easy on the ear, but for the most part I cringe when I hear it.

It may be worth pointing out at this time that I am a card-carrying saffer, and thus entitled to this opinion. Not that many of our mix of accents are terribly endearing, mind.

mainly the thing is in Australia it always seems they get the best weather...it's always amazingly summer like isn't it?

I don't know about other parts but I had this friend from Perth and she said temperature floats around 0c in winter time.
