All states in Australia have legislation banning the commercial trade (which I assume also covers production) of hardcore pornography (i.e., you can own porn but you can't buy it in Australia) so there is no porn industry, gay or otherwise.

Yes, and also in the Northern Territory, as both the ACT and NT fall under Commonwealth law and the Commonwealth has no law prohibiting the sale of pornography.

It certainly claims to be Australian-based but nothing else about it - including contact details and domain would identify it as Australian. Contacts are linked to hotmail, and the domain is based in the US so maybe that's how they're getting away with it?

If they are selling the porn through a US domain, technically, it's not selling porn in Australia.

Well, it's not like there's much else to do down there, is it?

I'd love to support a local industry ... but there doesn't seem to be one, so I continue jacking off to American men.

There is a series of Australian gay porn movies that I've bought off eBay. They're soft-core (which is all the seller has told me that they're allowed to sell, via eBay) but very good, and all the models and locations are Australian. The Pride Australia series, by Mike Esser (who I think passed away recently). There are hard-core versions (I own a hard-core copy of "Dream On Buddy", about a 20-something guy who keeps drifting off into fantasies where his friends are all having sex in and around his house), but they're hard to find.

It's the same general pool of actors in all of them. I think my favourite is Andy Stone, who tops in "Crikey" (a Steve Irwin parody) and does both in "Sons of the Beach" (another good one) and "Bush Buddies" (but "Bush Buddies" was an older one, that one feels like it was originally on VHS and rereleased it on DVD). I also like Jake Harvey (who is incredibly beautiful. He tops in "Dream on Buddy", and bottoms in "Sons of the Beach" for Andy Stone). There's another vid called "Straight Mates", which is set on the Gold Coast. I don't think it's as good as the other vids, but it wasn't bad by any stretch.

I think they're produced by an English company, but it's the closest thing to Australian porn that I've ever found.
