Avatar: The Last Airbender

Highlight to read due to response containing spoiler-related information...

That's still left to speculation though. Iroh is an AMAZING firebender, so there's reason to believe that no harm has come to him. I couldn't see Zuko still standing by Azula's side if she KILLED Uncle Iroh. No way.

:END SPOILER RESPONSE:

If I have to wait until summer to watch season 3, I'm going to go MAD!!! While my faith in Nickelodeon died in the era of Alex Mack, Are You Afraid of the Dark, and the GOOD Doug...Avatar is Nick's only saving grace in my eyes. I don't give the channel another look otherwise.

I NEED MORE AVATAR!

:grrr: HOW COULD I OVERLOOK THIS THREAD FOR ALMOST 2 MONTHS!?!? :grrr:

Oh, and I have nothing to add to this thread, lol. I think my avatar says it all. ;)

Well done. ..|

i have to say, i only caught one episode of this, but it is amazingly well done... the concept is well planned out and it isn't too childish... hope we see more cartoons like this...

a small glimpse of some of the amazing fight scenes in avatar. I truly love this show.

omg.... i love the fight scenes... never would thought I would see such good action from an american cartoon...

I LOVE this show
its so advanced for what originally seemed to be just another kiddie cartoon

some of my fave episodes
-Siege of the North
-The finale of season 2 where Zuko joins Azula(that b!tch...)
-the episode with flashbacks of Zuko's mom disappearing and Ozai murdering his father for the Fire Nation throne

my fave character is Uncle Iroh...
he's always speaking the good word and provides comic relief...

and he seems to be one of the best fighters

I have an Appa plushy. He's so cute >^.^<

Has anyone else heard that M. Night shyamalan is supposedly working on live action movies? One for each book:D

The tenents of learning the bending is grounded in martial arts principles. My brother teaches one of them, and he always takes time to tell me about his theories, discoveries, and his methods of teaching his pupils. When I saw Avatar, everything he said stood out.

The exiled uncle of the Fire nation is my favourite character. He is the personification of wisdom that his nephew doesn't seem to understand.

Tea anyone?

Avatar is the most amazing American produced animation to date. It is definitely a sign that animation in the west is maturing quite a bit, most likely due to the influences of Japanese anime.

I love everything about the series. For once, there is a story to follow; a strong continuity between episodes. The writer's are not afraid to touch some very sensitive issues (death, sacrifice, abuse) in a very real way. The characters are dynamic, and slowly change in both personality and appearance.

I'd hate for anyone to miss out on the series. I suggest looking up a torrent and downloading both seasons when you get the chance (look it up at www.thepiratebay.org or www.isohunt.com).

I like teh show, i havent watched it for like a month or so tho

Avatar shows me that kids are at least getting good stuff these days. The show definitely doesn't pull any shortcuts, when it comes to animation, each bender actually uses real martial arts moves based on a skill that goes with whatever their bending - like waterbenders use flowing Tai Chi moves. Man, all this makes me sound like a dork, but yeah, definitely a great show.

*bump*

So.... when does the new season start? Anyone know?

There's been no word for quite a while. Many people are surmising that Nick is waiting until September. I cruise ToonZone quite a bit, either following up on my favorite animation or looking for schedules, premiere dates, etc.

At the least, fans of the show should feel positive for a couple of reasons:

1) In an online interview earlier this summer, the shows' producers shared some information about their inspiration for the show and their goals in telling its story. This is positive because it means that work has not all of a sudden stopped on the show.

2) One of the first Avatar games came out on the Wii, and another Avatar game for the Wii is set to launch later this year. Video game activity on the Avatar scene hints at Nick's belief in the series itself.

Overall, I am pissed that we've waited since December for some new Avatar. I don't see how kids are going to know that its coming back or how if they even know that the show's NOT gone. Hopefully when it does return, it'll be like a sweet drug we never wanted to say goodbye to in the first place.

Avatar is THAT good.
