Just curious about the statistic, people' experience varies I guess but interested to see the average number.
How many partners did/do you have from 18 to 30 years? How many casual hookups?

Since midsummer 1985: Probably 30 to 50.

In my defense I spent the period in question in about seven different cities long term and around 20 or more for short term stays.

All I can say is before Gay.com and the current gay websites out there designed for finding a friend to spend a memorable evening with there was AOL and <insert city name> M4M chat.... that was a gold mine for finding people.

Of note I was also not out and definitely not getting any from 18 to 26.... so in four years I averaged about 200 a year.....

But I was experimenting and trying to find out who and what I liked..... and I like sex. A lot.

Well, I'm only 22, so I can't fill out the full 18-30, but my totals would be

1 friends with benefits type experiment thing (a bisexual friend of mine who I fooled around with once shortly after coming out, when I wanted to know what sex was like with a dude. )

How do people define "hook up" in the question? Some people consider making out a "hook up," some don't call it a hook-up unless there was intercourse involved.

From my teenage years until age 22, there was Vincent. I never needed anyone else. Oh sure, I looked...but never touched... When he died, I was lost...
