Awesome Obscure Songs

An obscure song by an obscure singer-songwriter, recorded in about 1954.

Fast forward 60-odd years, and rising star Julia Bullock takes it up and makes it her own. The piano man is her husband. Isn't he nice? 🙂

Connie Converse disappeared without trace in 1974.

L.S.G. Hearts (1994)

This song is a absolute trance classic from the early years of trance. Before trance became commercial in the late 90s. Trance music was so groundbreaking and underground. The original pressing from this song is quite rare and expensive. Its sought after. Trance comes from germany and this song represents the pure sound of german trance. Its one of the best trance song ever. Yet so obscure.

So hauntingly beautiful - Thank You!

Now I have to share this
It's a one-off promotional CD-R single from an album that never happened.
Had it been released in the 20th century (album or not) it may have entered the charts because in those days everybody had a chance to make a big hit.
"If it sounds good, we'll press it!" such was the attitude of music companies back then. But now, nothing gets done unless an artist has established a brand (and then they dump every album track on spotify and that is supposed to be a chart ??)

Without physical releases music has become even more obscure, and most of the goodies are hidden in obscure bandcamp accounts. Great music is still being made but it takes a lot of digging to find the good stuff.
This comment makes me feel a little embittered and hateful, so here's another one-off to calm my nerves

Livin' Joy - Love Yourself

This unreleased song was supposed to be on the second album of Livin Joy. But they never finished the album. Some unreleased songs from the second album are on youtube. This is the only way to listen to it. These rare songs were most likely recorded in 1997 and the second album was supposed to be released in 1998. But for some reasons, it never happened. This song was never released. What a good song. Its about self esteem. Very italian dance style.

This is a disco record so obscure I don't even know where to find it myself.
The song "Girls" was a big hit for Moments And Whatnauts in 1975, that is not the obscure one.
There was a cover played in the gay clubs of Amsterdam in the early eighties where the song was changed to "Boys"
So instead of;
"Pretty girls, the sunshine in their hair, perfume that they wear, girls are everywhere"
The gay version said;
"Pretty boys, the sunshine in their hair, perfume that they wear, boys are everywhere" and so on and so forth.
I cannot find this recording on youtube or anywhere else, it's rubbish of course but I still want to find it again.
Please, anyone, help me find this record.

Say When - Boys

Wow! Yes! You are my hero. Did you remember this from back in the day? I am so impressed and very grateful. Thankyou.

Glad I could help. I wasn´t born yet when the song was released but I remember hearing it some time ago and since I knew the original it wasn´t hard to find.

One of my all time favorites. I bought the album on a whim because I really liked the cover. It turned out to be amazing.

Latin Rose - Everybody Is Gay (1986)

I'm sure that you dont know this song. Thats because its very obscure. Dance song from spain.

20 Inches - Flat Chested Girl (1995)

You possibly remember the song by Gillette - Short Dick Man. Men have their revenge with this song.

Gay Men - I'm A Man (Who Needs A Man) (1983)
Gay songs tends to be tacky and cheesy. This song is no exception. But this song will stay in your head. Its catchy.

Roy Davis Presents The Believers - Essence Of Life (Roy's Hard Doors Mix) (1994)

What an amazing house song. Great from beginning to end. Very long and intense. One of the best house song i ever heard. Its obscure and quite trippy. You need to listen to the whole song. Its worth it.
