You can try treatments, but I think it's best to work on getting over the issues you have with losing your hair. You might want to consider shaving or at least buzzing your head as well. You'll look a whole heck of a lot better than those guys who are pathetically trying to hold on to every last hair with their bad comb-overs.

^ I totally agree. Add to that the fact that bald guys can be totally hot!

I dated a guy who had transplants at 25. It made having sex annoying because his head was always very tender. Don't get them, because they look strange. Bald is very fucking sexy.

Propecia grows lint or frog fur. I own a very large hair salon. I have had mico graphs where needed. Typically, a man with an earily hair loss problem has a great plus, body hair. I wanted to keep both. After I had the graphs which were very succesful and no noticeable, even by my own plastic surgeon. I started a regamen of "Nixion promise is that the product cant not promise to bring hair back, but to keep what you have left. I know it does "both", the graphs were 6 years ago and after the surgery I started on Nioxin and have not lost any more hair. The shampoo you leave on one min and rinse for a min. The Scalp Theropy, smells great, you leave on three mins. in the shower, I usualy shave during this peroid. Again a good one min rinse. At the sink you apply part the light foam, tho the problem area and IT WORKS. You can find Nioxin in most up scale salons and you may purchase a 45 trial kit. If you are pleased and I KNOW you will be, ask about purchasing the shampoo and scalp treatment in liters, a lot cheeper. Good luck and if you need more info contact me and no dudes, I dont own a piece of the company, I just know it works.

I started losing my hair in high school, and was completley bald on top by age 30. I have no hang ups about it. Worse looking to me are the guys who do the "comb over." They just look stupid. Deal with what god gave you and get over it.

i felt like my hair was thinning a bit on top when i was 25(i'm almost 34 now) i started using rogaine and that shit really worked.but i think you have to use it as soon as you notice a change cause it keeps what you have and grows back a small amount. my hair grew back really thick.everybody noticed how great my hair looked.you have to drop the med on your head twice a day. about a table spoon. i stopped using it at 32 and went bald on top. not the whole top just at the back. i felt 6 years of using rogaine was enough for me. i also felt it was starting not to work that well anymore cause it's really not for use for 6 years. and you can't up the dose and i was sick of putting the stuff on my head.i also moved out of state and people here did not know me before with the big full twisted out hair(damn i do miss it!) i think at 22 it must be hard. i was so wrapped up in changing my hair styles till i was 30 that i used my hair to hide behind.but people do like bald guys or balding guys. i still look pretty good just more manly and not so boyish.someone said hairy guys usually go bald and let me tell you my 25 year old bf is really hairy and not going bald-yet and i'm not overly hairy at all. i have found that guys seem to really start to go bald at 30. a small amount seem to go bald before that.this next comment is gonna sound superficial but if you feel bad about yourself than put all that hair focus on working out. a nice body totaly ditracts from baldness.and at 22 you are young and should be able to get in great shape quick. but don't cover it with baseball caps! own it!when you try to hide something everyone can tell you are hiding something. and i have seen guys who do hair club or something like hair club and i can always tell it's fake. seeing those guys with hair club and trying to dress younger always makes me feel sad for them. like they have no clue who they really are. getting older is a journey and at 22 you just have to kinda start that journey a little early. but it will be okay!!! try to work through it...|

thanks for the advice guys....i know you all say bald is sexy but honestly i don't think so(no offense to anyone here) which i guess is why i'm having the biggest problem balding so young.
what are you gonna do about it? you can't mope around forever or let it consume your life. if your hot youre hot- hair or no hair. don't just whine about it find some way to be productive about it.are you gonna try rogaine? look in transplant? wear a rug? what is your next move? what r u gonna do?

i'll tell ya i do feel for you. it is rough going through it.we wrap up our whole image in our hair. once you take that away you have to kinda rebuild yourself and change is hard to do. outside or inside.

Couple of points....

Transplants too often look REALLY bad. They can be done well, but the cost is crazy. I would rather be bald than ever risk looking like a barbie with a bad hair job.

Rogain and Propecia do work, they are medically tried and tested. Propecia doesn't grow hair much, but it will stop your hair from falling out. The sooner you start taking it, the better your results.

Rogain WILL grow back hair, but not once the follicle has died... so again, the sooner the better.

Combination therapy shows lots of benefits for guys who have waited longer. In any case results will vary. Some people can reverse hair loss enough that they look like they never had it, others will always have thinner hair but atleast they have stopped the progress.

Remember, any therapy you start you will need to stay on. If you stop, your hair loss will begin again.

Lastly... if you decide to go with Propecia, speak to your doctor about prescribing Proscar instead. Proscar is EXACTLY the same drug as Propecia, but at about one quarter the price. Split a Proscar tablet in 4 (5 to be exact but that's basically impossible) and you have the same dosage as Propecia. (If you want the long version of this story, ask...)

Do the best you can with what you have and stop worrying about the rest.

besides rogaine i did try propecia. like i wrote 6 years on rogaine was enough so i went on propecia. propecia is a pill where as rogaine is topical. big mistake! propecia turned me into a sexless blob. i had no interest in sex and when i did it took forever and i barely came or felt my orgasim.my cum was thin and bubbley.no idea why.it looked like spit. i gained a bunch of weight which i still can't shed.it made me really inactive and just plane blah.i stopped it after 6 months and now when i come it's fantastic again! i would rather have the spot on the back of my head than loose my cock again! i have probably a tennis ball size spot on my head now and you can only tell when i turn around that i am missing hair. you are 22 so i would not take any pills. you have no idea how a little pill can really rob you of normal functions. guys do like bald men.and on another note. that whole buisness of if your mother's father is bald you will be and if he's not you won't. bullshit! my grandpa had a ton of hair. my dad is bald and i see the same pattern in me. our feet are the same-our body hair is the same. we are built similar. though my face looks like my moms.and i do look more like her family. i really think you go by your dad. anyone else notice this?

on a more superficial note......i used a pic of me as a avatar that i took a week ago.do i look like i should hide from the world? if a guy hit on me and i turned around and he noticed i had a spot and than told me to get lost-i would not wanna date a guy like that.i bet you are cute the way you look now. on another side note i noticed you and i share the same b-day of jan.7th.both bald AND the same b-day!! if you lived by me we would party! and buy shirts that had arrows on the back of our shirts that pointed to our heads! the front would say "so what?" (*8*)

Been there, done that...

I started going bald at 18. I got a hairpiece (weave) in my Twenties (ridiculous, expensive and looked FAKE. Got rid of it after one year).

In my Thirties I started shaving it all off (buzz cut, I guess it's called). Here I am at 48, and totally at peace with my hair (or lack thereof). I like the way I look with a butch haircut and I love the fact that I can just roll out of bed and into and out of the shower in 5 minutes. Sure, a nice head of hair would be nice, but I've stopped thinking about that fantasy years ago.

Bald comments from others don't bother me and honestly, I don't even notice them. They use to bother me.

It's like being gay: What is, is.

I used to think it would bother me, too, and never thought I would lose my hair.
To my surprise, it started thinning out in the crown of my head a few years ago. I'm not sure what "clicked" in my brain, but it dawned on me that:
A. I can't see the top of my own head, therefore I don't think about it.
B. I could now do a buzz cut and not have the hassle every morning.
C. Even when I do look in the mirror, I'm now so used to the buzz cut that I tend to forget that my hair is thinning.

My advice, at your young age, is to get to the gym.......work on your body and quit worrying about your hair. Anyone so crude as to not find you attractive without hair doesn't deserve you anyway.
(oh, and use sunscreen on top of your head to protect it !)

We all want a thick head of hair, lets not kid ourselves. But if/when we do find ourselves losing it, the best thing you can do for yourself is just accept it. There is no magic potion. If there were one that actually works, nobody would be bald (unless they really wanted to be). The snake oils availabe now may grow a little peach fuzz or may slow down the process of balding. But none will regrow a full head of hair. And covering with a rug or plugs will make you feel insecure for the rest of your life.

Just accept it, be confident with yourself, and all will work out.

yeah.. I SWORE I was losing my hair at 23. My doctor insisted that no.. I wasn't.

When I was about 27, I was POSITIVE, and everyone said I was insane.

Then a friend was diagnosed with cancer and after a day of shopping and eating and tanning beds, we both shaved our heads. He went into chemo the next day, and we both stayed bald until his grew back... about 7 months. By the time we were ready to grow it back, it was more than obvious that I had been right all along... I was going bald.

I freaked for a day or two and then decided that I looked hotter with no hair anyway.

Yes, there are a few extremely expensive products out there that will regrow hair, but none of them are permanant solutions, and some - like transplants - usually make it worse in the long run. There's nothing less sexy than a guy who looks like a threadbare carpet because of a bad plug job.

Alas, you just might have to get used to being the bald guy who gets better and dirtier and more frequent sex than the guys with hair in your group of friends. Sucks, but it's the cross you'll have to bare.

has anyone noticed that is or has lost ther hair(or is about to) that your scalp where you are loosing it is prickly and sore? it actually hurt when i started to loose my hair!#-o

I'm also sorry about your hair loss. I've been lucky (I'm 27 now) and my barber told me that I won't be going bald for a while yet. He reckons I've got really thick hair. I've got a couple of mates (one is 18, another has just turned 21) and they are very thin on top. My dad also has a good crop of hair so I suppose it is just in the genes.
the barber told me the same thing. all my life i got compliments on my thick hair. even at 30 when i got my hair cut they could not believe how thick my hair was. i even had to thin out my hair when i was younger cause i had so much thick hair. but only 3 years later and it's gone in the back. hair loss can just happen one day out of the blue.and in 6 months you could be completely bald. genetics is an odd thing. it's like a clock in your body. and once that alarm goes off bye-bye hair. #-o
