Do you have any really obscure artists or bands in your collection that chances are, no one else on this board has ever heard of?

For me, it's Yaki-Da. They were a little-known Swedish duo who released two albums in the 90s. They were created by Jonas Berggren from Ace Of Base, who wrote and produced their first album, Pride, in 1994. They had a couple of very minor hits in Europe from that album. They released a second album called A Small Step For Love in 1998. Despite being even more obscure and only ever being released in Korea and perhaps one or two European countries, it was a better album than their first. No one may know who they were, but they came out with some really good 90s pop and I think it's a shame that they missed out on being successful.

Colourslide!

I remember seeing them perform back in school, they're local, hometown boys but since then(which was about 2 years ago, they've blown up on the indie market. Love their first album, haven't bought the second on yet, but a bad ass band with some great tunes!

Gainsville has some real potential. Great band you've listed here.

"Against Me" is cool live, and Trash unreal didn't do to bad getting some natinal air play.
Maybe Gainsville will be the next Augusta at some point soon for southern indie scene. REM, B-52's some big groups from there.
Gainsville people think Tom Petty but that was then.

Yeah, I think it's people outside of Gainesville think it's Tom Petty and that's it.

The PullOut is a local band that has some potential

Velveteen Pink did a ton of shows in Gainesville back in 2007. Now they're mainly in Athens, GA.

Yes!! This band has no wikipedia page, a facebook page with only 600 fans, but I managed to fin them. I was listening to a Pandora playlist based off of "The Killers" and a song from "This Is A Shakedown" came up. They're like a post-punk revival/nu metal/electorock-ish band They have one album that came out last year, "Love Kills." Here's their only (and really cool) music video for "Circles:"

I like the sound of Yaki-Da

For me, on of my favourite, yet most underrated artists comes from 'Emjay' (no, NOT Michael Jackson, lol). She's a eurodance artist from Canada, who released some amazing dance tracks, which reached number one a couple of times on the canadian dance charts, during the mid to late 90's. However, with only one album released and a number of singles, she more or less dissapeared, but still makes a few guest appearances in the 'euro' scene of downtown Toronto once every year or so.

Check her out!
