Sausage has a conscience, as does maltese, my single favorite poster of all time (and greatest nemesis). That doesn't mean we agree -- we mostly don't -- but they are whole, they are human. We can disagree bitterly and still appreciate each other, which is how, ideally, the world would work. The others, well, their hatred and ignorance know no limit.

I would say in addition to sausage, it's MattieMich and, even Kulindahr (to an extent) that have something approaching a conscience and some degree of sanity that can allow them to see clearly when those on their 'side' have gone too far.

If Alfie thinks highly of Maltese(While still strongly disagreeeing with him on most issues)you should trust his instincts.Mattie Mich is clearly a liberal Democrat(his pride avatar,for starters...almost every political post of his as well)A really nice young man,but I highly doubt he'll be voting REPUBLICAN TODAY IF EVER!Closest he ever came to being a Republican was to say in one thread that asked if you would ever date your political opposite and he replied he wouldn't mind if the Republican was a moderate who never opposed gay rights.Check out his thread about voting for the first time in Hot Topics....he clearly wasn't thinking GOP!

I'm not going to say I agree with your assessment of the other more conservative posters here,because I do like them .I don't have any animosity towards the liberals here personally,just think some would rather not see anyone less than progressive here and don't accept the presence of even a small group of more conservative posters.I'm glad you think a lot of Maltese and myself,but feel that you do shut out the other conservatives without really knowing them,or attempting to.you tend to talk at them,and they do the same back to you.Wish you all can agree to disagree,but respect each other....am I going all Karl Rove again?(Saw the posts of yourself and Homoaffectional on that,comparing me to Karl Rove,at least a second rate one...found that interesting,to say the least!)

I was actually very proud of most everyone on Election Day!

For the most part there were few problems, and I'm sure it was a very emotional night for everyone here.

His removal from CE&P was for a cumulative record of insults to me, others, and warnings from me and from other moderators. He's been given every opportunity to conduct himself properly and he has disregarded all advice given.

Seapuppy, the fact that you are able to make your points in your posts without being disruptive or insulting shows me that he could do so as well.

If someone shows no inclination with regard to working with a moderator of a forum, then perhaps that person has no business in the forum.

Still, if Chance were to PM me indicating that he'll work with me, rather than against me, I'll shorten the forum ban. The ball is in his court.

If some of you could read the PMs and comments that I've received from him you would have a very different opinion.

A one year ban seems to me to be excessive. I realize that I'm not privy to every consideration that went into the decision, I don't see anything posted in the forum by Chance that would warrant such a lengthy ban, particulary since a shorter remedial ban was not tried first. A one year ban seems punitive.

If banning is used to edit the annoyances from the forum rather than as a last resort, it can only damage the forum. This ain't the Oxford Union Debating Society.

i'm at work and i cant really post in depth here, but i will tell you guys this

I posted a poll in hot topics about party affiliation.

the numbers for republican responders was low until I posted the link to the poll in this forum. then the voilume of republican responders to the poll jumped by 50 percent in 24 hours.

it would seem that in reality, despite the accusations of the conservative members, that there are actually MORE republicans in CE&P forum than any other forum on the site.

I doubt that would be true if there was some sort of conspiracy on the part of Snapcat to purge dissenting opinions of one side of an arguement. In fact, for political debate forums to work, im sure he's aware that all sides need to be represented or it just gets boring and stale.

Snapcat has come down hard on excessive or questionable behavior on both sides equally ....no favoritism or personal political opinion has affected his judgement on discipline.I like Chance but he has gone too far with his taunting,and I've tried to make him see it from Snapcat's viewpoint,but to no avail.Snapcat has even continued to leave the door open for an earlier lifting of the ban from this forum if Chance just plays by the rules of conduct and keeps his criticisms to the subject matter,not taunt or insult the opposing poster.He has made it clear that he will not take this forum being used as a free for all to get in grudges and insults based on personal dislikes,and even those I more often agree with would be wrong to think otherwise.
