They may lose a tenth of a percent from the 'evangelicals' to the moderates, but not many weekly churchgoers among them are going to participate in 'sin'. They might budge on immigration or taxes, but they're not going to budge on the evils for which God will destroy a nation.

Man i couldnt agree with you more... there is no fucking way a group of people whose church is against homosexuality would go for a guy that supports it... no WAY...

(I know I know Gallup poll yet it isn't really an argument that Catholics went for Obama)

Here's what's funny about this comment--I purchased a 2008 Chevy Malibu. It was the first year of the complete redesign. So was the 2008 Cadillac CTS (another GM car I've leased). These two cars, along with a spate of other high-quality GM offerings in 2008/09 were completed before the bailout.

Not to say the bailout was not helpful in leveling the playing field with the imports. IF the bailout is the reason I'm loving my new 2013 Chevy Malibu so much--then I must thank myself as an American taxpayer.

Just imagine what no bailout would have done to unemployment rates given that about 1 million or more jobs are related to the american auto industry, IIRC.

I also believe the auto bailout swung the rustbelt swing states to blue...
 
They did indeed make them blue in states that were trending red by there local elections...

The US car industry started to change it's culture before it collapsed but it was too late...

A good example is there was at least a decade if not two where Japanese cars came standard with power windows while American cars were still hand crank jobs...

Ermmm alcoholism is both hereditary and a disease. Last i checked cross race marriages and homosexual behavior were not negatives in my world.
