Barbenheimer

"As used in New Mexican Spanish, the term hispano can refer to Hispanics in general or it can refer to anyone of "Spanish or Indo-Hispanic descent native to the American Southwest." Don't thank me thank Wikipedia.

"As for the Barbenheimer phenomenon, all the talk of dressing up and buying cocktails suggests that going to the cinema with friends has become a rare special occasion rather than a regular activity – something you put in the diary and plan ahead for, rather than something you just do."

I used to go to the movies almost every weekend, but the people I used to go with passed away.

They were supposed to build an independent theater (laemmle) in the city I live in, but it was canceled because the company had financial problems due to COVID.

C'est la vie

The Barbie movie has now made over a billion dollars.

The Barbie movie has now made over a billion dollars.

Who has seen it? Is it really any good? Because the commercials look sickening. I mean, Ryan Gosling looks like Ken's father having a mid-life crisis. And all that fucking pink.

I have at last recieved a free copy of Barbie. Better late than never. It's not bad and there are other colours on the screen as well as pink.
The film has proved highly popular in Russia, despite not having a legal release. Some cinemas have been showing a standard Russian patriotic film as the main, advertised feature, and playing a pirate copy of Barbie as the unadvertised support picture. The people turn up early, from word of mouth, to watch the support and walk out when the official movie comes on.

I saw it last week with a friend and we liked it. It delivers a good message, has some humor and a very queer aesthetic.

We watched Barbie this weekend and it was delirious. But in a good way.

Well done Greta et al.

I see why it made the small dicked str8 guys nervous. But c'mon.
