Barilla Pasta CEO anti-gay remarks

I have never heard of Barilla pasta till now.

And I definately won't be buying any of Barilla products in the future.

And when I eat outside, I will make sure I don't order any pasta.

Because I have no idea if those restaurants, fast food outlets are using Barilla pasta or not.

.^^^bump

The vox populi has spoken.

Pasta maker Barilla plans "inclusive" TV ads after anti-gay remarks

ROME (Reuters) - Italian pasta maker Barilla has reacted to the global storm caused by its chairman's comments that he would never use a gay family in his advertising by saying it planned to make the company more diverse and run a more inclusive TV ad campaign.

Is this real change or just a marketing ploy? I'm dubious.

Meh.

There are better pastas out there than Barilla. I'll bet that pasta sales in the bible belt just shot up though.

and of course, he seems pretty indifferent as to whether fags are chowing down on his noodles or not.
Sales in the Bible Belt MAY shoot up, if people can find the pasta at all.

I don't remember seeing it before, but if Barilla is a prepared food/canned brand, I have always ignored those anyway, so I'm not gonna ever "see" it anyway.

Unlike somebody's post, though, I don't think Chef Boy-Ar-Dee is really an alternative, LOL.

You can also make your own pasta. Most store-bought isn't that great except buttoni raviolos

^ I love making pasta...but now that my partner is gluten intolerant after his surgeries this year......probably not gonna be happening...but it is so easy.

^ you can make gluten free pasta with cornmeal. it tastes different, sure. but maybe you guys like it.

I just decided to buy Prince. Ain't nobody got time to make homemade pasta.

I've been seeing Barilla everywhere- one grocery store even dont have another brand to sell. Since I read this thread, I ALWAYS remind myself DONT buy barilla..:nono:

but they are everywhere!! ](*,)

Could it be "the king of pasta" has significant influence towards gay marriage? Is Barilla really powerful? I hope not :(

Ya know, I was in A- grocery store then I made long U-turn to the next grocery store- just because I DONT WANT FUCKING BUY BARILLA!

I notice only cheaper- lesser store like Big loads/dollar store definitely not selling Barilla brand. Walgreens, Target, Safeway ALL selling Barilla- on top of counter! :dead:

Barilla is huge in US

Is pasta a carb?

To be sure, you would also need to see which "house brands" Barilla manufactures. It's possible that the pasta at Aldi, Walmart, Fred Meyer, Costco, etc. COULD also be made by Barilla. House Brands rarely disclose who the manufacturer really is.

I was buying pasta the other day and ended up getting Barilla, because all their stuff was 1/3 off. I wonder if that had anything to do with the 'trouble', or if it was just a sale.
