Actually the black fellow you mentioned was the doctor at the breeding center on Caprica (nwdavis' #6 mentioned earlier).

As for the number of models, we need to add the original Cylon Centurions (which made that cameo in the mini), the current Centurions and the Raider models. All are Cylon models although the current Centurion could be considered a revision.

Scott Bakula?

Oh, and #9 is a guy named Crashdown. To appear in the second half of season 3.

No, Dean Stockwell. He played the guy who Bakula saw as a hologram. I can't remember his name...

the little girl and all the toaster models are all ceylon, but i dont think they figure into the twelve...

with starbuck's half ceylon baby that would put us over the twelve anyway

It took some research, but here it is. Its 8 total if you count the raiders.
Humanoid Cylons

Ronald D. Moore has confirmed in interviews that there are 12 different models of humanoid Cylon, with many copies of each model in existence. Moore has also stated that the humanoid Cylons are not based on pre-existing humans: "The idea is not that there was likely an original human model that they were copied from. The idea was that these models of Cylon were sort of developed out of their own study of us. The Cylons on some level looked at humanity and said "You know what? There's really only 12 of you." If these are the 12, and sort of if you look at them they each represent different archetypes of what humanity is."
The seven humanoid models revealed so far include:
[edit]

Number Three aka D'Anna Biers

Main article: Number Three
D'Anna Biers first appears as a reporter for the Fleet News Service, and is asked by President Roslin and Commander Adama to create a documentary to help the fleet relate to the hard-working staff on the Galactica.
Number Threes are played by Lucy Lawless.
[edit]

Number Five aka Aaron Doral

Main article: Aaron Doral
In the miniseries, Doral appears as a public relations worker for the abortive Battlestar Galactica museum.
[edit]

Number Six

Main article: Number Six (Battlestar Galactica)
The first model explicitly revealed to be a Cylon in the miniseries, Six uses seduction often to her advantage. Other copies have used the names Shelley Godfrey and Gina.
[edit]

Number Eight aka Sharon Valerii

Main article: Sharon Valerii
Sharon Valerii first appears as a pilot aboard the Galactica. Her true nature as a Cylon was only revealed at the end of the miniseries, and the series quickly establishes that Sharon is a sleeper agent, unaware of her true nature and programmed to carry out attacks on the fleet without her human side realizing what she is doing. She was revealed to be the 8th model in the episode 'Downloaded'.
[edit]

Leoben Conoy (Cylon Model Number Unknown)

Main article: Leoben Conoy
Leoben first appears as a smuggler at the munitions depot at Ragnar Anchorage. His role appears to be one of manipulation and deceit, skillfully mixing truth with lies.
[edit]

Simon (Cylon Model Number Unknown)

Simon

Simon appears to be a tall, slender, black male with closely cropped or balding hair. He first appears posing as a human physician treating Starbuck for a gunshot wound in what was supposedly a hospital on Caprica. In reality, he was also performing invasive tests on her reproductive organs. After Starbuck begins to suspect Simon's true nature and kills him, she escapes from the facility, her fears confirmed when a second copy of the model greets her on her way.
Simon is played by Rick Worthy.
[edit]

Brother Cavil (Cylon Model Number 2)

Main article: Brother Cavil
Cavil first appears on Galactica, posing as a priest. His nature as a Cylon is revealed when a second copy appears on Caprica.
Brother Cavill is played by Dean Stockwell.
[edit]

Cylon spacecraft

Cylon spacecraft in the new series are of a biomechanical design. Most are Cylons themselves, and in the episode titled "Scar" it is made clear that they do have intelligence and are resurrected by the Resurrection Ship as are the other models of Cylons.

God I am SO glad I'm not the only SciFi geek here!! I absolutely love this show! Everything MUST stop when it comes on! (BF isn't too thrilled to get 'the hand' when he interrupts for some silly sports thing HAHAHA)

I just watched the premiere, loved it! This season is going to be amazing.

Laughed out loud when Adama called Apollo a fat ass.

We all stopped and looked at one another and my brother muttered... "Burn!"

That really was pretty damn funny.

I was surprised when that one Cylon shot Six to compel Balthar to sign the execution order. I didn't see that one coming.

No kidding, especially when the cylon played by Lucy Lawless mentioned it was a sin for cylons to harm each other just before Six was shot.

/\ oh yeah forgot that part was mentioned just before that.

in the preview for next week we hear baltar asking if he's a cylon. could be....;)

...but if he is, i don't really know why they'd have to have him continue thinking he's human at this point.

I agree. If he were, why would he still be in sleeper mode when they need him to continue to be the head of the human government on New Caprica? They wouldn't need to coerce him to do they're bidding.

He played Al on Quantum Leap.
My boyfriend is convinced that Roslin is a Cylon in sleeper mode. I don't think I could handle that. But Ron Moore would do it just to fuck with our heads. This was the best season premier of any show on TV this year. I can't believe I have to wait until Friday for more. I need my fix.

i just love that they have enough balls to draw the parallel between humanity's fight in the show and the insurgents in iraq, lol. they actually call them terrorists on the show...not subtle.

i was totally shocked when they started using suicide bombers! i was like WOW the producers/writers when that far!

That's what has to be done. Desperate situations require desperate measures. We tend to villify suicide bombers, but the truth is if the situation was desperate enough, there will always be people willing to do it, even the "good guys".

What? It's 1:30 Pacific time and there are no new comments about last nights show? I love that there is a Cylon working for the Galactica now.

/\ ah but for how long? the seed has been planted that her baby (hera) is alive how long before she betrays Adama because of it?

last nights episode was good. this season is going to be great.

But she believes that Adama would not lie to her, which he hasn't. Only the doctor and Rosalyn know that she is still alive. So what's the deal with all the kids anyway. Are they trying to create a human/cylon hybrid race or something like that?
