Bears Bear Tattoo Design

OK, I developed the crazy idea that I want a Tatoo. This was kind of inspired by the fact that I finally realized there was something about me that will never change that I have developed a sense of pride about. I like stocky hairy men (Or Bears).

I want something very unique though, if I actually decide follow through with this.

I want a bear (or cub) looking image about 2 inches in height, and a little under 1 inch in width. I want it laying on its back, just below my nipple so that it looks like it is playing with my nipple with an extended paw.

Something vaguely like this, but from the top down, and in the form of a tattoo:

This is a very new idea, I was just wondering if anyone had any thoughts, or possible even an image that I could start thinking about. I really want to see an idea of what it would look like as a tattoo before I proceed.

Take that image to the artist as a base for them to work on. Talk through it and you should be ok. Quick warnig though is that by the nipple WILL sting. I just had one done that went over my collarbone and good god did that sting when it was over the bone.

Nice idea! Like they mentioned, just take the pic and the idea to a professional, and you should be all set. I got a large tattoo done on my back, and it took 6 hours. It hurt quite a bit, especially in the end after it had already gotten sore and he had to go over it. But seeing how small you want yours, you should be able to handle it. I want to see the pics when/if you finally get it, also

I think I want it to be gray scale, and most of what I see online is color. Also, I need to wait anyway, because I still have a sunburn on my chest from the 4th. That would hurt so much

Apart from the obvious sunburn bear in mind (pun intended) that a custom artwork will cost significantly more than an off the wall design, make sure that you're happy both with the design and the asking price before you agree.

How much would something like this normally run? I really have no idea.

Only an inch wide? Really, that's very small. Maybe you meant 2 inches wide and an inch high?

Hmmm, I was more thinking that it would be laying down my chest. With its front paws closer to my nipple, and its back paws closer to my waist. I don't know though, perhaps laying horizontally could look good too. I should go down somewhere and have them draw something out.

I really like that, I think I might go with horizontal idea after all. I don't know if it is possible to get something more detailed in something small, but in my head I had the idea that the image could somehow show fur, and not interfere with still knowing what animal it was supposed to be.

I really like that as a starting point though; makes me wish I had some artistic talent. Bravo sir

From experience customs are priced based on the time it takes both to create the image and then tattoo it.

Even that small to get it right and inked well would take about an hour, in addition to the reimage. Here (UK) it's usually about £75 an hour for custom work, which would be about $140 an hour so when I say custom is more expensive I really mean it.

I'm not trying to put you off, I love ink work and have four myself, but I just think that for that price it's a commitment so you deserve to have all the details for you to make an informed decision.

If I can actually get what I have imagined in my head on my body, I would probably pay up to $200 for it. Currently I am trying to decide how much I am willing to pay to see if it is possible to get what I want done (Get some sketches done and whatnot).

I want to get a tattoo as well, but nothing that has anything to do with gay/bi because well I am very closeted. But whats stopping me is my grandfather has always hated tattoos, even those fake ones. Everytime I would get one he would give me a brillo pad and tell me to scrub it off. lol

I have loads of respect for him, so I am not getting one just for him. Even though I really want to get a tat.

That is part of why I really like this idea. I am proud of my tastes in men, but if it comes down to it, the people who will know what it means are going to be OK with it. It would be extremely rare for someone who is not gay, or accepting of gay people to know the bear niche well enough to make that connection from the Tattoo.

Just wondering if you went ahead and got the tattoo. I loved your idea. I've always been hesitant to get tattoos but find them so attractive. love bear paws tattoos too! So instead of a tattoo, got my nipp pierced! lol

I definitely plan on getting a bear tattooo. Was thinking something along the lines of the Sheer Terror bulldog... but a bear wearing the scally cap and smoking a cigar instead. And obviously, a little better looking.

I actually still havn't got this done. I started getting serious with a tatoo artist about the design, and then I got Stomach Ulcers and Bell's Palsey...

Now that I am fully healed, I am pretty sure I am getting this done. The idea has change a little, and I think it is going to be on my chest going down toward my nipple with the same concept. I am basing the art off of this:
