Geneva's jet d'eau, one of the world's largest water fountains, and probably the city's main tourist attraction.

The Dents du Midi (Teeth of Noon) mountain range, Lake Geneva and the Château de Chillon (of Lord Byron fame) in Switzerland...

I've been trying for the past ten minutes or so to compose an adequate response to this. I can't conceive of one. It is breath-taking, soul-achingly exquisite.

I am glad you liked it. It is one of my favourite photos. I was hoping someone would love it as much as I do!

It hangs in Kelvingrove Art Gallery in Glasgow. A photo can't do it justice...but here it is:

I think that's late Dali, as he was facing his mortality

those Spaniards, they get either religious or scary when they get older:rolleyes:

Dali it is, late is wasn't. The Kelvingrove bought it in 1951/52 and Dali didn't die untill 1990(??)

It's not the "religious" symbolism that struck me, it's the perspective and the shadows...The way Christ seems to be suspended both vertically and horizontally (underneath a horizontal crucifix).

Notice the way it's "lit" as well...From the right and below...and yet it looks right.

everyone raves about Callas (and they are right)

but I found this version of this aria by Montserrat Caballé beautiful and touching, it is haunting too

My father (Now dead) used to listen Edith Piaf in his study while he read in the evenings. This was his favorite...It still sends chills down my spine.

Edith Piaf - La Vie En Rose

Here's another:

Edith Piaf - Non, Je ne regrette rien

The way she rolls her "r's" is brilliant IMO.

This is a real live picture of the Dumbbell Nebula. Amazing isn't it?

technically speaking this is a 'holiday' song but the vocal performance coupled with the lush orchestra arrangement (god, those horns!)... beautiful.
