As I was browsing the web just now, I saw a scene on TV in the background that caught my eye. It was a late scene in Gardens of Stone, which I've never seen, nor want to, but noticed D. B. Sweeney as he was in some dinner argument with his ex, and I had to look him up to remember his name. He had a real honey face.

But, I didn't recognize him in the cast pics because they are contemporary and he has changed (understandably) with age. Seeing the two and the jarring change, I thought it would be fun to have a thread that posts before and after pics.

They can be people, including actors, politicians, celebrities, whoevere. Or, you can post objects or scenes, like Java before a tsunami and after, or a car before a wreck and after, or Notre Dame.

Here are the two that gave me pause:

One of the most striking is perhaps Tim Curry. Here he is as Dr Frank N Furter in The Rocky Horror Picture Show in 1975:

and here he is almost 50 years and one stroke later:

Careful this thread doesn't devolve into a gallery of ageism.

The internet circa 1989 vs. the internet now:

That would only be if the posters make it so.

I gave examples of buildings, topography, and people.

You could even do cartoon characters who have evolved.

I wish I hadn't destroyed/lost to flood damage all my childhood photos. Man was I an ugly little shit.

^ It's been written in other Hollywood stars biographies and autobiographies. His relationships are quite well-known now. He was very popular. To see why he was so popular, Google search 'Columbo Roddy McDowall Pants'. ;)

I like beefy, confident guys and always prefer the before pictures.

(purchased confidence doesn't count)

"hey kid . . . take a good look at the local shops you love . . . they'll all be gone by the time you grow up".

Before and After - except nothing remains of my neighborhood Colonial Stores in Norfolk, Virginia.

People who shop at today's Harris Teeter in my old hometown have no idea of what came before.
