Not sure if anyone else has noticed this but the page where you enter your credit card details on Bel Ami is NOT secure:

attachment.php

Notice it is not using HTTPS.

You can get a secure page though if you follow the link at the bottom of the page going to CCBill.

Just thought I'd post this to let people know.

Note:
Please read BelAmi's statement considering this issue later in the thread (Post #4):
http://www.justusboys.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3889549&postcount=4

The form is secure, but you can't see it the regular way.

Just as it does not have HTTPS on the final URL, does not mean it is not secure.

If you watch while the page is being loaded you will see that it loading an iFrame from EPOCH themselves, which is a secure HTTPS page. It's also why the text on the page says 'secure purchase'

If you don't mind, I will get JUB to verify this and then alter your post... I understand your concerns and how you reached this conclusion, but reporting a serious issue like this when it is not true, is really not good for business :-)

I can understand the OPs concern but before I would have posted something like this I would have contacted Bel Ami support and voiced my concern with them.

Thanks Bel Ami for your input and clarification.

Nice to see you've replied to this. :-)

However, I don't think it is a good idea mixing secure items and insecure items on a page. It may be through a secure IFrame but there is no way for the user to verify this easily.

I'm just wondering why you have chosen not to make the whole page secure? Personally I think this is worse for business as you may loose sales because of this. SSL Certificates are so cheap these days it's not worth not having one.

I second Kins.

Users who don't know the technical backgrounds are only trained to look at the https/lock symbol to determine whether a website is secure. they don't understand what an iframe is, neither can they understand that if an unsecure form is posted through https in the end.

i will alter the first post to point at your statement. but personally i'd advise you to change this behaviour. in days were many people are afraid to give out their CC info over the web because of phishing and other frauds, people are very sensitive with this topic.

Re: Bel Ami signup secure

the SSL will come back, it was an issue with the analytics tracking code (how many members came from where tec) that made it come up with the error that there were secure and non-secure items on the page. If the techies don't sort it out this week, we will remove the code again and put it back under all secure URL

If I had seen this, and if I were thinking of purchasing I would have looked for the https:// when I didn't see it I would have walked away. Kins has done Bel Ami a favour for pointing this out. The technicalities, as has been stated, are not clear for all to see and we rely on the https visual clue to indicate the security of the transaction.

Perhaps a quick dose of gratitude would not go amiss from Bel Ami

Sorry for being amiss in the gratitude department.
Of course we are grateful for the opportunity to clarify things, the chance to clear things up before the posting would have been better, but it is good to know that users are as concerned about their own online safety as we are.
All back under the https banner now.

Thanks kins123, if you want to drop me a note, maybe we could arrange some viewing credits for you at BelAmiVOD as a way of thanks

I will tell you that I order from Bel Ami almost as soon as a new dvd comes out and I have never had a problem ordering, or feeling insecure about placing an order online. I also want to say that when I order a dvd it is shipped almost immediately with an email confirmation.
