Believer or Atheist?

I'm a spiritual person and believe in God... I do not, however, subscribe to any shape or form of organized religion!

Take the money and politics OUT of things, and I'm there.

Believer, by education and choice.

Have lots of friends who are not.

I don't force belief on anyone, and only ask that I not be harassed for my beliefs (my friends are a great mix of deists, agnostics and atheists).

Everyone likes my cooking.

I have read the bible. 4 times to be exact.

I have been baptised, had my confirmation, performed reconciliation, gone to confession.

I went to a Catholic school from grades 5-12.

Net effect: total atheist.

And seriously, what is with the people who say "the bible says so" like that is evidence. that actually scares me. obviously they don't understand what counts as evidence from a scientific standpoint. If you believe it, good for you, but know that you need actual evidence that stands up to scientific scrutiny before i will follow.

Atheist. Were I to follow a religion, it would be Buddhism (which is really more of a code of ethics than a religion).

i'm a realist, so i believe in what is logical and at least somewhat proven. religious beliefs, or more specifically 'faith', is inherently illogical. i was raised christian (i believe it is a widely-accepted cult with pure business and political motives in its institution, propagated by instilling fear of eternal damnation, which is how they tricked peasants and slaves to be obedient). i pity people raised devoutly that believe their holy fabrications blindly without question, gay or otherwise

my scrutiny of religion began in church as a child years before i realized i was gay at age 8, and I believe it developed separately. It may be that as gays we are more open-minded, rather than closed narrow-minded, and we know their is life outside of following the pack and maybe that's why there's a higher presence of atheism

@Guy4silver: i have read and study the bible. the bible is shit and was devised by men, and in no way connects to god, not even through the many scribes that penned, edited, and censored it. they lied. get over it
it's fine to use it as a guideline for morals, but don't feel compelled to follow it mindlessly because it's "the word of god"

@Agaymale: werd

Eggplant Parmesan?
Fried Chicken?
Penne Puttanesca?
Shrimp shiskabobs?

Last night:
Roasted chicken with garlic and basil,
mashed sweet potatoes and steamed broccoli.

Tonight:
Chicken Parmesan, Linguine
and I don't know what else.

No Christians on the barbie, though. ;)

I guess that makes me the sixth - well, more accurately, fifth-and-a-half.

I started at Genesis and I reached, I think, one of the books of either Samuel or Kings before giving up.

I found the plot a little far-fetched, the characterisation too one-sided, and the pace was awful.

I ditched it for, if memory serves me correct, a rather fictionalised and romanticised account of the life of Australian bushranger Frank Gardiner.

God created the stealth bomber? Wow. I thought he just did trees, fish, and naked people.

Who'da thunkit?
