Outy belly buttons
A friend of mine was going to have her son's outy belly button fixed b/c she didn't want him to feel abnormal when he was a teenager. I gently tried to discourage her from doing it. I find them to be unusual and sexy as hell.

I don't really find them especially attractive but it is not worth have surgery over, especially at such a young age. If he wants it cut let him decide.

My brother-in-law's younger brother's "outie" is waaaay OUT there!!! I swear it has to stick out at least 2/3 to a full inch! We tried not to stare, much less make comment, but heck ... there is something to comment on and/or about! But it looks like the umbilical cord was ripped from his body leaving that; which of course none of us mentioned. Something like that one might to be addressed before junior high.

up untill the age of 13 my belly button was an outie. It never bothered me or my mum dad or brothers and sister. SO althrough it was offered nothing was done about it.
The first time I undressed in front of everyone in high school ( well the lads anyway ) the names started. And half an hour after the games lesson everyone knew.
And we all know KIDS are cruel.
I was 14 when I had it put right. It's not a problem But as you get older you get better muscel tone etc etc. ( It is juts a lott easier to be done as a baby ) I just wish I had, had it done when I was younger. And both my parents agree with me when they saw how depressed I was getting about it all. I was 13.
I cant say what to do about your friend, as the decision has to be down to her ( and bear in mind this was high school in the UK in the 80's ) But mine was not a big outie, but it was noticable if I had my top off ( but covered you couldn't tell )
But kids are kids. if there is something diffrent about you they will pick up on it. ( hell I even got bullied for haveing freckles )
So best advice is just tell her to do what she thinks is right !!!!
