Beowulf, and a new angelina!

Well if that wasn't the most terrible line I've ever been met with...

"I'm heah to kill your monstah'."

But the two photos in their gallery look kind of cool.

Ummm from the coming attraction it seems to have absolutely nothing to do with the legend of beowulf

I did some background vocals for a movie version of Beowulf well over a year ago. I was wondering what happened to it. Usually when I do one of these movie gigs, the movie comes out after 6 months or so.

Based on the music, I doubt the movie is going to be any good movie. It's too derivative of Lord of the Rings. Nothing original in the music, and I bet the movie is going to be the same.

This doesn't look that good to me. This motion capture animation has always looked silly. And Angelina Jolie is doing her vampire accent from Alexander again.

I can tell the movie gonna suck because they're making it too Hollywood. Grendel's mom has been interpreted as a warrior woman and as a monster but I've never heard an scholar claim she was a seductress. And Angie is clearly trying to seduce Beowulf in the trailer... that just doesn't make any sense! Grendel's Mom is supposed to be enraged and avenging not a common tramp but the director/writer/studios clearly just wanted sex for the sake of sex.

The Beowulf saga is one of my favourite books of all time. I read it for pleasure, the language is so descriptive and... well if you know the saga you know what I mean.

It is a story that really needs to be told and listened to, not watched... and to some extent not read either. Originally it would have been told by traveling, professional story tellers over several nights. He would tell the story for his bed and board... and if he told it well a few coins .

I have often thought it would be difficult to turn it into a film... I think I may be proven correct. But I will happy to discover that I am wrong.

I'll rent it, the I'll leave my opinion, can't give anymore.

I saw the trailer with the Bourne Ultimatum...Angelina's voice is haunting in a theater.

I showed a few friends the trailer and i had to tell them that it was animation and not shot like 300

A man like you could own the greatest tale ever sung
Beowulf, stay with me...give me a son and I shall make you the greatest king that ever lived

Thisssss I sssswear

You will forever be king, forever strong...mighty...beyond imagination

From the trailer alone her presence is so tempting and seductive. It has a great cast, interesting story, great animation.

I'm looking forward to it

What I don't "get" about people complaining is that it's only a 2min trailer so how can you be bitching already about something you haven't seen lol.

Angie's character is "Grendle's Mother"...how else was she supposed to get pregnant without seducing beowulf?

From the info I've read about the story..there are a MILLION different interpretions because of the language. Considering that this poem is from the 13th century all you fanboys should be happy that people now-a-days are even being exposed to it.

It's extremely snobish and elitest to imply that b/c it isn't YOUR perfect idea that there isn't any quality to it.

I had to read Beowulf for AP English as summer reading and nothing can make me go see this movie. The book was good but a tough read (as an american, having almost no clue to the language differences i.e. old english). I get the feeling that it will be completely butchered but those having not read the saga will think its great and those that have will think its attrocious.
