Best Classic Rock Voice!

Bruce Springsteen
John Fogerty
Don Henley
Bob Seger
Roger Daltrey (in the 60s and 70s when his voice was stronger)

Joan Baez.....
Well, maybe not classic rock but definitely classic. Her voice is astonishing. I've seen her in concert a few times. Did you see how beautiful she looked on the Grammys?

Joan Baez and Bob Dylan

By the way, I don't think anyone has mentioned Bob Dylan.

Ok... since many of you have listed female singers too (even though I was asking about male voices hehe), let's also pick the top female classic rock voices:

Here are mine:

1. Tina Turner
2. Pat Benatar
3. Janis Joplin
4. Stevie Nicks
5. Annie Lennox

Definitely Tina Turner in there... who else? Hard to say... Kate Bush? Hehe...

Erm, sod the classic bit, and I'll go for:

Tarja Turunen(ex-Nightwish)

Sharon Den Adel(Within Temptation)

Kim Waterson (Miss Conduct[She's a local vocalist, but her voice blows me away. Check out her band, if you wanna find out what they're like])

Angela Gossow (Arch Enemy [Yep, I really did just put her in for best singer])

Bec Moran (Solo [A friend of mine, but again, very talented. If you wanna hear her stuff, well, tough. Unless you PM me asking, because I have some, but there's nothing on the internet])

1- Brad Delp .. amazing voice and he could pull it off live too
2- Steven Tyler .. really amazing
3-Freddie Mercury ... by far one of the most talented and impossible to mimic
4-Joe lynn Turner- most of u guys probable never herd of him
5-Pat Benatar- she really had a great voice

I love Joe. His work with Ritchie Blackmore is almost perfect. Bent Out Of Shape is one of the best albums ever. And his solo career is also great. His undercover albums are simply amazing.

I love Freddie and Steven also...

All above are good, but wht has nobody mentioned ROD STEWART???? Clearly in the top ranks.

I have to agree... Rod has one of the best and most unique rock voices around. Too bad about that American Songbook thing though... hehe

"Wake up Maggie, I think I've got Something to Say to You..."

Ok now... who has the best male voice in Classic Rock?

My choices are:

1. Burton Cummings (The Guess Who)
2. Myles Goodwyn (April Wine)
3. Bob Seger
4. John Fogerty (CCR)
5. Dennis Deyoung (Styx)

if my choices are between your 5 i would have to say dennis deyoung

otherwise its Ann Wilson all the way. she is amazin!!

stevie nicks would be second. i want to marry that woman.....

Freddie Mercury (Queen)
Debbie Harry (Blondie)
Eric Clapton
Janis Joplin
James Taylor
Elton John
Stevie Nicks
Mick Jagger

...And the list goes on and on...
