Best Fabric Store in NYC

Just be glad I didn't misspell shirt in the first sentence!

Well, that was a total failure. This whole making my own shirt idea is definitely not going to happen.

So I wandered around the fashion district. There is an awful lot of fabric out there. For some unknown reason to me, most of it seems to be highly gaudy shimmery stuff that looks like a tornado hit a drag parade. I mean, I can't imagine who would actually even use this stuff! I did end up at Mood. That is the first time I ever needed help using an elevator. But I did better than some who gave up and used the stairs.

Anyways, I never knew there was so many kinds of fabric. And I had no idea what I was looking for. Even worse, after spending an hour walking around the whole shop, I completely failed to find a single thing that even came cloe to the kind of design or pattern or colors I had in mind. Actually, i was kind of dissapointed. I had in mind there going to be these great big shops with ever imaginable pattern and style. It ended up to be just a bunch of carbon copy tiny storefronts with the same Joann's overstock in every one.

I am sorry you couldn't get what you wanted. It's especially frustrating when there is so very much you don't want.

My favorite "Project Runway" episodes were the ones where the designers use the computer to create their own fabric. Maybe we should do that.
