Best Gay Cities

Want to visit Portland, Seattle and Austin - will def do so

going to Tulsa and San Francisco this week

gonna try to fit in some fun time :)

recommendations are welcome :)

Chicago is being completely overlooked here.

It's got the third largest gay population (even larger than San Francisco) and Boystown is a huge district with endless shops, restaurants, bars.

There are also tons of bars of all varieties spread throughout the city (mostly north side) as well and a great huge gay sports organization and massive pride parade each year.

Apologies for being Euro-centric, but another city I love is Perpignan. Catalan but with a French ambiance.

Adding balance to this forum just by offering your own experience does not make you "Eurocentric."

Incidentally, I hear Berlin has a great gay scene, and I have been there but when I was too young to see any of it.

Yes, Berlin is wonderful but go in summer. Winters are very cold, unless you want to go to the Christmas markets as well.

Madison, Wisconsin. Large gay community, vibrant progressive University town.

Chicago, north side of downtown. I stay there a couple months out of the year near Clark Street / Lake Shore Drive / Diversey / Halsted. Great area to live. Pride parade ends near my front door.

Just to name a couple.

This is a good thread when i graduate college i want to move to a gay friendly city Chicago no1 is on my list.

Philly Pa is a gay friendly city all the gays here always go to philly for the gay night life

I heard Pittsburgh Pa is pretty gay i always been curious about Pittsburgh but i heard it has a good gay scene.

And you might like Atlantic City Nj the Governor is taking over the city and trying to fix it up and stuff. I know it has a decent night life and its nice out there

Istanbul has a crazy gay/night scene, but you have to dig a little bit to find it.

We stayed in Turkey's only gay B&B a couple years back; indescribable!

I love Turkey. I might even retire there!

Minneapolis is cold, too...but I figure, it's like putting meat in the freezer...Keeps us fresh and youthful much longer!

I'll take your word for it! But I have to say it's heat that does for me!

I like the mixture of hot and cold, and some culture. Volcanic hot springs in Iceland sound like an incredible trip.

It looks lovely. I still don't like the cold bit though!

"Tulsa" spelled backwards is "A slut."

Just sayin'.

good one about Tulsa :) I enjoyed my one evening there - coming home now

met a guy at the hotel bar/restaurant who was put up there because his flight back from colorado (to syracuse) was cancelled - so the airline put him up and fed him

Yuri - originally from the Ukraine - very cute and friendly - great accent too - he educated me about Ukraine and about their POV on the U.S. - no idea if he's gay

was not able to sample gay Tulsa as I arrived late - was going to connect with someone for a "tour" but ............ next time

Off to San Francisco tomorrow - hopefully will have two full evenings to sample the scene

as for "euro centric" ............ please feel free

we're prob very us centric on ce+p and your offerings are welcome and appreciated

love the input guys

been to pittsburgh - liked it btw

going to new orleans next week - anyone know a good club to check out?

New Orleans?

Hell to the yeah! Now we're talking! (!)

Stay in the French Quarter or as close to there as you can for starters.

New Orleans is about as Gay Friendly as a city can get.

I recommend Good Friends Bar. I've always had a great time each time that I've visited there.

It has a very "local" feel about the place and everyone that I've ever met there, regardless of where they're from, have been great!

Then of course there's Oz.

Check out the rest of Gay New Orleans here.

Of course there's so much more to do and see in the "Big Easy," but those two bars have been my favorites.

While you're in the Quarter you must stop by Cafe Du Monde for some coffee and beignet (pronounced ben-yays). You can sit at the cafe, or get it to go and sit by the Mississippi with is just a short walk away.

I'm looking forward to my next trip down there.

Be careful of Bourbon Street. [-X

It has a draw to it, and if you're not careful you'll miss a lot along the way. ..|

Another city I like is Carcassonne, down near the Spanish border. A beautiful place and you can also take boat trips along the Canal du Midi.
I'd post some photos, but I'm a bit of a dunce at computers!
