Definitely tell them it's your first time. Tops (most, not all) get lost in the sensation and tend to gravitate towards just straight up pounding, which can be too much if you're not used to it. They need to be reminded so that you are in control of the pace for the evening. Honestly, they'll feel great either way, so make sure you're comfortable.
