In your experience.

I want crispy but also tender not rubbery and chewy. And good flavor of course.

Any and all opinions are good.

Thank you. :)

I actually have a hard time finding just plain old bacon. Everything is flavored now. I don’t like smoked bacon. Pepper bacon.

I can't even begin to comment on this because I don't know American bacon....but our butcher in the big Smoke smokes his own award winning bacon.................

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

I like a local brand called Frosty Morn. If I can't find that, I buy Smithfield or Oscar Meyer.

I'm adaptable on bacon, and mix it up, as I haven't found any that I'm gaga about.

But, I think Hormel Black Label is worth the price. The best bacon is from a local butcher or at least regional.

So that's what Americans, true ones, all of them, are made of.

Is abuse dangerous, at least for your looks?

I saw this on FB this morning so everyone else needs to as well.

That's actually what I was expecting last month on the Big Daddy's burger I ordered. Just a jazzed up pork belly. What I got was some multiple-dipped super-coated bacon that was thicker than a chicken-fried steak, but with only a thin slice of bacon at the core. It was breading on breading.

Your link looks good enough that I'm going to try it this week when I make breakfast burritoes to take to work. That crunch could make the hashbrowns unnecessary.

Given who posted the original question... It would probably also be helpful to suggest brands that work well with cabbage.

Yeah.

I make a lot of breakfast sandwiches for family and the neighbors kids. My issue always seems to be the chewy/rubbery inconsistent texture of some of the supermarket bacons.

I like to have a few pounds precooked and then just crisp it up a bit when needed.

I might have to upgrade my bacon purchases.

Thank you all who replied. I've been a bit out of it lately but appreciate all of you.

I'm glad this thread bubbled back up.

I had completely forgotten this is where I read about the dredged fried bacon.

Made it a couple of days ago. Works well. I put back a bag of fried pieces to add to my breakfast burritos this week. I plan on warming the burritos, then toasting the warmed over fried bacon at the last minute at work to have a good crispy filling.

One thing I changed: the length of the bacon seemed to be a nuisance in the video, so I just went ahead and cut the long pieces in half before dipping and dredging. Made handling in the skillet very easy.

The bacon was good, but not any better than undredged bacon. Just different. Nice and chewy, but not rubbery, while still in a crisp shell. Made for the best of both worlds.
