Worst: Moulin Rouge, Rent, Spirited Away, Lost in Translation, Being John Malkovich, High Fidelity, Eyes Wide Shut, A.I., Signs



(I just remembered Spirited Away, which is the totally irritating story of a really annoying girl who screams a lot who goes to this magical land of really repulsive people who have voices even more annoying than hers. Her parents are turned into pigs, and the people all eat dead fish or something. In the end, her parents aren't pigs anymore, but she's still so annoying I wanted her dead. The animation is horrible and the characters are all ugly. Good marketing convinced people this movie wasn't a compelte pile of Dog Shit. But only stupid people.)

I typically agree with Soilwork, but I have to say that Signs is my favorite M. Night Shyamalan movie.

I really like his work and I REALLY wanted to like The Village and Lady In The Water, but both would have to go on my Worst lists, too. He's SUCH a talented director and even his bad movies have been visually stunning and good in every technical sense. He's just turned into such a horrible, horrible screenwriter. His directorial talent is being wasted on his own work. I think if he teamed up with an A-list screenwriter, his movies would be phenomonal.

Hey Soil, I'm glad I'm not the only homo who doesn't like "Moulin Rouge." I watched it but I didn't get the hype. It was.. semi-ok. But why does every homosexual revere that movie (and my partner who even owns it!).

Best: Citizen Kane - Generally considered the best movie ever made, "Citizen Kane" is the icon film of the "American Dream"

Worst: Gods and Generals - Worst. Movie. Ever. Seriously! I could argue "Gods and Generals" to be far worse than any of your "Worst" choices on this topic. Basically, its an epic (and I mean LOOONNGG film w/ intermission) story about how wonderful and poetic the Confederacy was during the Civil War. I laughed so hard, it made me wonder why we even fought a Civil War at all, considering how benevolent the South were treating the blacks in the film. lol

Oh Man.. I thought that Moulin Rouge was one of the most attrocious piles of shit ever squeezed out of an asshole.

Worst pile of shit ever.

Garish and Loud and annoying and NOT A SINGLE male character had a spine. Even the bad guy was spineless. Ewan MacGreggor actually played a whimp for the first time ever, and when that skank fianlly died at the end, I was so happy.. I just wish she had killed him too.
