Hey man, first of all well done. You are cut - and hot!

I've always been a little chunky, but been to lazy and unmotivated to do anything about it.

You're an inspiration.

maybe one day I'll have a bod like you - but I can only dream about that for n ow

Congratulations. You look fantastic. Keep it up. By the time you're 30 you'll be looking like a Greek god.

I don't know if that was intended or not, but with this headline you are asking for it.

"I wanna fuck you like an animal ... "

Good work! Congratulations.

WOW! *Favorite thread #1 from now on*

Really amazing what you've done in such a short amount of time. I guess you'r going 100% for this. Have a feeling I could learn alot from you..
Arms are looking fantastic!

And yeah, If I can have a thread, you can too.;)
Looking forward to more updates and pictures!..|

Wow, quite a difference! Well done! Pretty soon I'll have to make a subforum... "hot guys' fitness threads"!

Definitely an inspiration! And in such a short time! I'm on a journey to fitness too, but I'm too chickenshit to post pictures. That and I hate my body, so I'm definitely NOT going to be posting pictures (not unless it's in the whole looking back form like you have! Hehe!)

But definitely, seeing success stories like this keeps me motivated. Thanks!

Oh, by the way, do you include any cardio in your routine?

Probably not, because it seems you don't store much fat, and have a harder time gaining weight as opposed to losing it (sigh... the genetically gifted)...

He's only 21, he could afford to eat like normal people and still workout and still look great. Right?

Unfortunately, unless you're one of those people with a super-hyper metabolism, you have to be pretty disciplined with your diet. I have friends who bring a bag full of food with them everywhere they go so that they can adhere to their diet.

You can take a day off every now and then. Of course, holidays are a time for enjoying meals with family and friends (which is why the gym is hellaciously crowded between Thanksgiving and NYE).

His diet is very disciplined. The only thing that I noticed that BHS might take another look at is the vitamin. If you're taking a multivitamin 3 times a day, you might want to switch to taking a single multivitamin once a day then take a B/C only supplemental vitamin the rest of the day. Multivitamins usually have a daily allowance of A and E vitamins along with trace minerals. Vitamins A and E are oil-based and any excess tends to build up in the liver over time. B and C vitamins are water soluble and any excess is excreted (which is why they make urine bright yellow).

Another factoid that might not be applicable here- men should not take vitamins with iron. A healthy diet provides plenty of iron and excess will build up in the body tissues which can cause a lot of problems.

I've noticed you seem to be very privy to health knowledge. I've been thinking about taking a nitrous oxide supplement preworkout only. Any thoughts? Most of the popular brands come with creatine which i'm not too keen on so i'd have to get an alternative brand. Hell, what do you think about creatine too?

I'm not a big fan of commercial bo-dy-building supplements. Over the years, I've seen a lot of fad supplements come and go. In the end, nothing replaces discipline, hard work and a balanced diet.

I am in favor of nutritional supplementation- especially if you have a busy life. And let's face it- after a while, eating chicken breasts and tuna all the time is boring. So nutritional supplements like protein shakes or amino complex are fine for supplementation to help with a good diet. They shouldn't be a meal replacement and supplements shouldn't be used all the time- you should take them only when you need them and then cycle off.

Some of the new reseearch is saying that taking an amino acid complex supplement during the workout helps with fatigue.

By nitric oxide supplement, you mean something like NOXplode? BSN NOXplode has creatine and arginine and a big dose of caffeine. It also has a lot of B vitamins and trace elements, so keep this in mind since you're already taking a lot of vitamin supplements. In addition to the BSN product, there is Gaspari Nutrition's SuperPump and Labrada also has a one, too (one of these doesn't have caffeine but I can't remember which one).

If you want to try NoXplode: Start with 1 scoop with 1 liter of water on an empty stomach about 30-45 mins before your workout . Don't eat or drink anything before or after- especially protein shakes- it will upset your stomach if you have a sensitive GI tract. If you tolerate it, you can increase to 2 scoops after a week. I believe the maker suggests 3 scoops but that's really for guys who are bigass serious bo-dy-builders. Some of the gyms sell bottles of pre-mixed NOXplode that you can try (the big tub of the dry stuff is like $50US). If you try the pre-mixed stuff, only drink about half of it when you're trying it out since it's a big dose.

With that said, I don't like these supplements for two reasons:
  1. In order to get things that are of benefit like amino acids, you have to consume shit that's not really good for you like caffeine.
  2. Most of the guys that are taking these supplements aren't taking them for the right reasons. I hear things like "I wanna get bigger, man" or "I wanna be shredded" which aren't really goals- they're just excuses to take shortcuts.
Keep in mind that what you're doing now is working for you. You might do some thinking about what your goals are at this point. Do you want to continue to add muscle? Do you want to increase the weight you're lifting (and why)? Are you frustrated that your recovery time isn't good? Or do you get tired during your workouts and lose focus?

A reason why someone might want to take supplements is to help boost recovery and help with muscle repair/development. You don't have to buy expensive supplements to get the helpful amino acids that will help- just buy amino complex or glutamine or arginine or creatine and see which ones help you.

Think about why you want to take a supplement and then try specific nutritional supplements that help with that need. Everyone's body responds differently, so try arginine or creatine or amino acid complex and see how your body responds until you find one that helps. That makes a lot more sense than spending $50 on a big brew of a bunch of different stuff.

Not to endorse a particular brand, but there are companies like Ultimate Nutrition that make very affordable amino supplements.

I couldn't agree more!

As to nitric oxide... it's pretty new. There's no great evidence for or against it. Nor is there much info regarding it's safety. Personally, I would guess it is another waste of money. The claim that it helps blood flow doesn't make sense to me personally... it is used in it's inhaled form for high pulmonary artery pressures. It is broken down fairly rapidly. The full role of NO in the body is FAR from being totally understood.

I'm anti-creatine as well. No doubt it adds muscle mass though. I've seen it first hand. You can see the good and bad (I'd focus on the bad personally) at...

http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/natural/patient-creatine.html

I've now known two people who took supplements for weight gain/muscle mass and had elevated liver function tests. Once they stopped, the levels returned to normal. No idea what that means in the long run... maybe nothing. But if you can reach the same results with hard work, I just don't see the use in risking it.

The biggest deal with fitness and working out is actually getting out there and doing something. Try to research your supplements before you take anything. A good diet, working out with intensity, and getting enough rest make a proven equation.

Oh and hi, im just looking around just joined up.

Ummm... I don't know why but this inspired me to do some weight training. I'm where you were at, in point A and I do around 30km or cardio a week, but this thread inspired me to work on my bulkiness.

Plus your hottness may have contributed to my inspiration. =P

So you do abs every day...I was always told not to because you have to give them time to grow. Buuut your stomach looks great.

nice, you really look after yourself with all that diet info. :)

The abdominal muscles are the body's most resilient. muscle and can take a beating and generally recover very quickly. I only do them 5x a week, or once per session. By Friday they normally feel strained and tight but the 2 days i take off allows em to come back strong. .
.

Abdominals absolutely as often as you can. You don't necessarily have to add resistance daily but doing basic crunches and situps is always a good thing.

As you get older, abs are the first thing to go if you don't work 'em.

There are some who also believe that you can do resistance work with biceps daily, too.

Im pretty lean myself, but I have body fat. Hitting the gym is not my regular thing, but code and you have made it to my top inspiration ppl. You guys have motivated me. so, starting next year, i'll hit the gym 5 times a week.

(Starting next year, cuz it's a holiday... I'll be away from college and gym. )
