So I am a Canadian, according to the Bible I may purchase slaves from neighbouring countries. Now if I were to get some American slaves, say Fred Phelps, Maggie Gallager, Tony Perkins, Michele Bachmann, et al, Do I have a legal standing?

I know that owning slaves in against the law but these people are actively trying to live like Christians in accordance to the Bible. I would be following the law of the Bible on their behalf? Does that make the legality issue moot?

"Does that make the legality issue moot?"

No, but it does make you a "silly rabbit"!

I'll trade you one Michelle Bachman for Sarah Palin. What? fuck her? i didn't touch her !

Less of the "former" if you don't mind. ;)

Oh, and no ...

dude I know you want docile and ignorant slaves but this bunch is just too stupid to own. maybe they can be sold to a circus or something.

Seeing as Canada doesn't have a state religion, you're screwed.

For Christians, and anti-Christians this is a reading for tomorrow (Sunday) in the churches of Traditional Christianity:

Romans 13

8
Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
9
The commandments, "You shall not commit adultery; you shall not kill; you shall not steal; you shall not covet," and whatever other commandment there may be, are summed up in this saying, (namely) "You shall love your neighbour as yourself."
10
Love does no evil to the neighbour; hence, love is the fulfilment of the law.

In the "spirit" of the thread, if not current laws and morality,

Give me a Penny apiece and they're yours!

I didn't want to go there, but I'll cut you a check if you take Bachmann - and lock her up in your basement. at least until after the 2012 elections.

No canadian religion really? what about the Katlicks in K-Beque?
and the Muslims in Montreal?

Yeah the term "neighbor" would seem to be what jives this with the slavery stuff. Because as know a slave is not your neighbor, he is your property. As such, you have a right to beat him.

Don't feel too awfully bad Jonesy,

The doomsayers are also saying

our Gov't doesn't have a prayer either

You may have the Phelps clan. Get me some really rockin' fashion, and I'll allow you to purchase our Mormons.

Really?

Which counter will they try to buy

Refunds and exchanges maybe?

I figured they might offer to buy Quebec and solve the whole cessation argument once and for all.

It's really not all that far to Palmyra, where Jos. Smith found the Book of Mormon.

Owning slaves isn't the only way to enjoy an authentic Christian lifestyle. This also includes stoning to death anyone who labours on the sabbath, or those who plant two different crops in the same field, or wear cloth woven from different thread (those polyester-cotton t-shirts are gonna be the death of someone!). Most Christian rules seem to require the stoning to death of someone.

Matthew 22:
36 Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?

37 And he said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.

38 This is the great and first commandment.

39 And a second like unto it is this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

40 On these two commandments the whole law hangeth, and the prophets.

The problem with Fred Phelps, Maggie Gallager, Tony Perkins, Michele Bachmann, et al is that they and their followers are ignorant of the Scriptures. Thus, they can take selected passages out of context and use them to support their cause. People have been doing this for centuries.

It was done to justify the treatment of women as property.

It was done to justify the treatment of blacks as slaves.

Now, it is being done to justify the treatment of LGBT as unnatural or cursed by God.

Ignorance is not always bliss, sometimes it can be dangerous.
