That's too bad. It got to the point where I'd rather read your recaps than watch the show. Course, the season was pretty sub par compared to all the rest. Maybe there's hope for this season.

oooo nice! We only had the live audience for the first season....then when nobody watched that season they changed it to the format that we have today...but it'll be nice to have some people there w/ Chenbot I guess...lol

I am sorta, kinda looking forward to 10.

Talkintotherain, you must not have been on After Dark at the right time. There was fighting, screaming, name calling, a pool orgy and other various things on this past season.

I don't think our version of BB is popular enough to warrant a studio audience for eviction.
Big Brother in UK and Australia are so much bigger so it works. In those countries everyone knows Big Brother. It's like a national phenomenon. Plus they have a daily show every day. And special events throughout the weeks.
I know so many people here who have never heard of our Big Brother. We have houseguests all the time who have never seen the show.

It would be cool if Americans did care about the show as much but it's just the case for some reason

So essentially, our American Idol is their Big Brother in terms of popularity. They look like they have some really interesting players too.

Is one of the BB overseas editions the reality show that gives the players 'secrets' like canceling a nomination vote of flipping HoH to another player or am I thinking Survivor? I know someone has it...maybe I'm just really drunk...

^other Big Brothers have different secret challenges all the time. They're not really about scheming and forming alliances but for some reason they have just as much drama and fights, despite not being able to influence people or talk about nominations.

I think they should switch our Big Brother to be like that. i think it started out different season one but i think it'll work this time. Our culture has changed so much people are so desperate to be on tv nowadays.

Bunky (from BB1?) was on Deal or no Deal. He had his back shaved by the woman contestant who was a hair dresser. The banker sent out Bunky to be shaved. It wasnt acknowledged that "here is Bunky from Big Brother"

I guess I like that you can't influence people directly because people pick the dumbest reasons to gang up on certain people. I think it would be better if people had to use their brains more. there are indirect ways to target people or manipulate situations i think.

I'm assuming you are American like me and it seems like there cultures are just completely different. In Australia people hate housemates who actually play the game or make any strategic moves to further themselves. In the UK people who argue or are aggressive are massively hated and Big Brother warns them about aggressive behavior getting them removed. It's quite weird. I guess Americans are just more bred to be more conniving and malicious. WHo knows?

Yeah season one was a complete and utter disaster. Under no circumstances should they even consider removing the game aspect of the show from the American version.

yeah Season 1 was just a disaster....it was horrible....I think the format that other countries have would never work with the American audience...we're just different...we need backstabbing and drama and fighting

The other Big Brothers do have tons of fighting. i think it's human nature for people to disagree. I think in American BB things are just way to staged and fixed to favor certain housemates. Real drama is better than the manufactured drama.

i think the problem with season one is they had too many old people who just wanted to get along. I think in a confined place like Big Brother you need younger more aggressive people.

You couldn't be any more right about that. You can't get through one weeks HoH before someone claims competitions are fixed and whatnot.

Fortunately for us all the BB producers do a perfect job casting people who, while it may seem fake or planned, genuinely are nutcases. See last seasons BB Natalie for proof.
