Big Brother 13 CBS

The producers/editors on BB8 never caught the snap on Jen. They kept trying to make her the villain when she was actually a confident idiot savant, unflappable in the face of everyone's bitchiness and Dick's psychotic attacks, yet brilliantly vicious when she saw an opening. For example, she kept ignoring Dick's insults during an endurance challenge, and then finally scoffed that it might be worth it to drop out of the challenge, just so she could see all Daniele's letters and photos from her boyfriend (this after Daniele had been macking on Nick and pretending she didn't have a commitment back home).

Other awesomeness include waving around her wine glass during a POV challenge; werqing that unitard like no one has since; Bunny/Prayer (duh); mocking Daniele's "ONNNNestly" before casting her vote; nominating the Donatos week 2 like a boss and fuck you producers for saying I can't; eating turkey burgers like a rebel and fuck you producers for saying I can't; winning POV's to save herself and when she wasn't, getting Jameka to do it for her; and subtly giving America the finger on finale night ("I was wondering who was that childish to squirt mustard on my clothes but now I see...it was just America.")

I don't remember most of all that (I tend to really get into a reality TV show, and then instantly forget everything that happened the second the show ends), but "confident idiot savant" is an excellent description of what I liked about Jen. She was the subject of one of the most vicious and sustained mob-mentality-schoolyard-bully mass attacks I've ever seen (and for NO good reason whatsoever), and she was pretty much, as you say, unflappable through it all.

I do remember the turkey burger incident, of course. I remember being fairly stunned to learn that the producers apparently had NO plan in place in the event of such a thing happening. And it royally pissed me off that she was penalized for breaking a rule that had little-to-no impact on the game, while later on, Dick got NO penalty for receiving a coded letter from his son, telling him who to target for elimination.

yea bb 8 was just meh, although i think dick revealed that he was getting coded letters after the show was finished, but still should have been penalized or something for it.

i look at all big brother seasons as a reality show, but in season 8 they decided to make a scripted soap opera instead, and it makes the season more enjoyable when you watch it that way.

Except I don't enjoy soaps where the villains are the heroes and the heroes are the villains and the villains never get their comeuppance.

I actually wrote to Bb and called CBS about the way Dick was treating Jen. I was furious that they didn't expel him from the house because he flipped cigarettes and matches at her, and other disgusting tricks. I hated that MFing imitation of a troll.

I was so appalled the obviously-producer-orchestrated Evel Dick win that I boycotted the show for the next two seasons.

I didn't love Jen, but I liked her and felt horrible for the way she was treated by everybody.

The worst orchestrated win was the Jordan one and last season's manipulation with Jeff/Jordan. Fucking disgusting. I wanted the FEC to investigate BB for rigging a game.

I swear, housewives must watch BB, because anyone that works knows and hates people like Jeff/Jordan who have HUGE senses of entitlement. It wasn't cute. It was annoying.

AND I hope they do a clean break with the past. No more encores and appearances from old cast members.

lost lover, i would like a new cast all the time as well, but i feel that big brother will soon fall into what survivor has done, as in have a few returning players, each season, because it never fails that they usually never go.

always excited to see what the new twist is this year, will most likely be let down by it though lol

It's so annoying though when they have returning cast members back because, like with Survivor, all the other houseguests will usually idolize the shit out of them and the returning cast member has a straight shot to at least the final 4. We saw this perfectly last summer with Jeff/Jordan and Rachel/Brendan. I too am for an all new cast. Then maybe in a few years having an all stars 2 with everyone returning. But when there are just a few new people or a few returning people it's always going to be unfair for one side.

I can't wait to see what lame twist Alison Grodner comes up with this year that will, like every season thus far, dissolve into irrelevance by week three.

I think I'll give this show another go. I, too, stopped watching after the bullshit that was Evil Dick. That show was soooo obviously rigged it's not funny.

I take that back. I completely forgot that I saw some of last season's mess. Isn't that the one where the God-awful idiot with the cheating boyfriend with the big pecker won?

You mean Girl George?

Get the mods to change the title of this thread. This will be season 14.
I almost didn't check this thread because I assumed it was last year's.

For me with Rachel, liking at the very start of BB12 turned to hating, which turned to loving to hate, which turned to ironically loving, which turned to genuinely loving. The bitch entertains me and that's all I need.

This competition meant more to Rachels horribly fractured psyche then it could've meant to anyone else. I did mind her winning during her second run, though I don't think she deserved it in the least.

@slipintothefog
That GIF is everything! I also have a love hate relationship with Rachel. Can't wait for the fuckery to begin.
