There's been enough of a cooling period that I'm definitely looking forward to seeing Janelle again. I still don't know for sure who the second returning woman is (since some people say Brit, some say Dani), but I kind of hope it's Dani and she and Janelle don't get along. Battle of the female competition whores! :O

Oh, I would be glued to the feeds all summer if Janelle and Daniele were on and fighting like cats! God, who would have thought that Daniele Donato -- whom I despised the first time around -- would go on to become one of my favorite houseguests of all time? She's that rare example of a return that actually improves a reputation. Though I suppose after the odiousness of Season 8, there was no place for her to go but up.

I think it's April over Donato because A) Neither set of female legs is so think I can see the bones. B) I read somewhere that Grodner had stated that no one from last year would be back again. I'm fine with this because just having April to give good diary for a while is more than enough for me. Not sure if the mentors can compete in comps but if they can't the only one who will be of any real value is Dan. The other three aren't exactly master strategists. Maybe, Boogie can figure out who's coattails people should right but out side of that I don't see any use in the rest of them.

Yes the only good thing about Boogie being there without Will is that this could be one of those "myth destroying" returns for him. We will finally (hopefully) see that he only got to the end and won All Stars because of Will.

Falconfan is right. If the point of the mentors is just...to mentor, then something like a Dan/Will/Daniele/Nakomis would've made more sense.

Votes mean nothing because they didn't start until after sequester and there's no way that viewers have any clue who has reasonable availability in real life. With so many sites independently reporting Boogie, Dan, Brittany, and Janelle it seems all but proven at this point.

Boogie still has a chance to fake being great if this 'mentor' twist works as rumored and the mentors get to stay in the game automatically as long as at least one of their mentees is still playing and the last mentor wins a secondary prize as the mentors are competing separately against each other. So if Boogie gets at least one good player on his team he can continue to float through the game while Janey skips around calling other people floaters under the impression it's some miscellaneous term roughly meaning 'person I don't like'

I think it all depends on whether the mentor can compete for HOH/POV or not. If they can, then Janelle's team becomes Target #1, and this just becomes a rerun of All Stars with Boogie floating (ugh) very far. If however the mentors are just mentoring then the dynamics of who is perceived as the competition threat or who is a big target will be determined by the players on each team, which is not something we can predict now. In that scenario, Janelle could still advise her team to play a subtle game or (more likely) someone on her team with more brains than her tells her to shut the fuck up and let them play a subtle game.

Either way if Dan gets at least one person on his team worth a damn, he should be able to win this thing. He's easily the second best player of all time after Dr. Will, and for whatever reason, he doesn't get that kind of credit generally so he's still capable of flying under the radar and being underestimated.

Of course expect production to make the rules up as they go along. Remember last year how they kept changing whether the POV could be won/used by and for the duos or only as individuals? If Janelle's team is targeted by all the others, I wouldn't put it past Grodner to be all "From this week on, mentors can compete in HOH and POV even though they're at no risk of being evicted."

Oh also, remember how in All Stars Janelle and her two bumfuck buddies (not counting James) literally kept trying to do the opposite of what they did in Season 6 (in minutiae of course, in a macro way they really just played the same "win every comp" loser game) as if things were going to be exactly the same as it was the previous year? Well for my viewing pleasure, I hope she hasn't learned from that mistake, because it would result in her and her team targeting Boogie ("We can't let him win again like he did in Season 7!") and I need that Spongebob-Face asshole off my screen ASAP.

What the newbies probably won't realize for the most part is that being loyal to their team doesn't necessarily help THEM it only helps their mentor. And what the smart mentors will quickly realize is that they only need one of their newbs to survive.
