Big Brother 13

Yeah, fuck Ragan. Kevin was a far superior BB US gay houseguest (if not the best one of them all).

Ragan was also massively delusional and self-righteous. He looked down upon Rachel for being a waitress, then cracked jokes about infecting babies with AIDS. He was quite possibly the worst representative of the gay community ever to appear on Big Brother, surpassing the vile likes of Joshuah, Joe, and Marcellas.

I did say I mostly didn't get why people don't like him. And what was really that bad about Joe?

Big Brother 13 Semi-Finalists Contacted, Still No Set Cast

Don’t expect to see anything about those HGs for another month, but hopefully we’ll start getting news on the season’s theme and house design in the next coming weeks

What I can confirm at this point is the return of the Big Brother live feeds early bird special. Last season the deal gave you three months for the price of two and ended the night before the show’s premiere

I don't even remember who was on the show last season. That tends to be a bad sign. I do feel like normally the leaks have begun by now, not necessarily cast because they're not normally informed until like 2 weeks before move in if I'm correct but normally we at least get some recycled line about how it's going to be the most unpredictable season ever by now. No?

And the house.... Usually we've seen the inside of the house by now... no?

His introduction to the other houseguests involved a story about how he'd contracted sexually transmitted diseases.

Please.No.More.Stupid.Twists.

Please.More.Bootylicious.Boys.

Amen.

^ I agree about the boys ..| but I can think of some interesting twists I'd like to see.

Give them lots more alcohol. Spike it with some ecstasy. Put a bar and a dance floor in the back yard. Bring strangers in for a few hours each evening to party. Strangers who tell them lies.

Take their clothes away on Friday evenings and give them all skimpy bathing suits.

Have the guys lick whipped cream off each other to find a hidden clue...

Okay, I'm getting carried away. :(

People contract STD's. Get over it.

If that's all you have, I'm still not convinced that he was that bad.

Yeah and most don't shout about it to a room full of strangers on national television. That's just one, though probably the best, example of his complete lack of tact.

I guess I just don't think it's that big of a deal. I'm assuming it was said in the context of some sort of conversation and not blurted out and even if it was, who cares?

You're not the one with the STD, right? So, life goes on. I wish society wouldn't stigmatize STD's to the degree that it does. I'm not saying they are something to be proud of, but I don't really get the shame culture surrounding it. There are far worse things you could do than catch an STD.

Big Brother's gay male casting in general bugs me because they're all so stereotypical or disgusting in personality. The only true exception to the stereotypical aspect after a dozen seasons has been Steven, but I couldn't really get behind him either, because he was an early boot and used a less than PC term ("colored") for Libra. Josh from BB9 was easily the most vile of them all though, with his bullying of women and comments abouts about Amanda's father.

At least Kevin was reasonably well-adjusted, a good player and entertaining to watch on TV, and Will from BB5 was pretty normal and sweet, but most of the others just irritated me even if I didn't hate them.

Last season was sooooo bad save for Rachel and Brittany.. everything else from that season can disappear.

The contestants of this upcoming season should fear for all-male Brigade alliances, so hopefully the paranoia sets in and keeps the guys broken up.. I hate seasons where Bromances make it to the end, they always have the lamest winners.

the only reason britney was liked was people felt srry for that hateful mean ho

And Britney was a impotent twat. Her diary room commentary might've been entertaining if she'd possessed the spine to back it up elsewhere in the house. Throw in the fact that her best friend in the house was rapist Lane, and she amounted to a humongous, lazy-eyed pile of lame.

did RAGAN EVERN apologise for that AIDS joke. I HATE RAGAN AND BRITNEY> disgusting people

Will is definitely my favorite. Kevin was pretty good too, but I couldn't believe he lost to Jordan in F3. Nevermind that he was aligned with Natalie.

Yeah, I always give Kevin a pass on his horrible alliance mates. He clearly didn't like them, but it was too late for him to betray them and join the other side because the house divided so harshly that year. Sticking with Natalie and getting Jeff to turn on Russell ended up getting him a better placement than if he had left Jessie's coven of witches in the week they were all crying over his eviction and he was like, "bitches, please. o_O"

Will's karma speech after the twinbeasts got him evicted. <3 It's even better that they WERE the two who got booted after that.

A new interview with Robyn Kass (the BB casting director) is up at this website.

Here are some quotes:

"I have six casting directors who work for me and go around the country finding people for the show, then they pitch them to me, and when the list gets narrowed down, I take over."

"I love casting people who are fans of Big Brother and love the game, but sometimes when you put 13 people in the house who are all mega-fans, you lose some of the specialness. They know every little thing. They know, 'If I do this, this is going to happen,' whereas the people who don't know the game as well sort of play it like it's the first time and sometimes it's a little more interesting and unpredictable."

I'm glad to hear her say this. The BB12 cast was full of BB fanatics who were too familiar with the game and as a result they played it too well -- under the radar. While blending in with the wallpaper is a great strategy for making it far in the game, it makes for a very boring season when that's how everyone plays it. We need more people in the house who know nothing about the show and aren't afraid to make asses of themselves because they don't now any better.

I agree about gettting some fresh blood. Plus, it is so boring to watch them rehearse for every competition and try to memorize every element of the house.

I also agree about upping the alcohol dosage, kind of like I believe all pro athletes belong on steroids. If we are watching, they need to be at the peak of their volatility!

I used to think it was best to cast super fans but Ive had a total change of heart. It is so lame when people are counting things and knowing exactly how to prepare. But the thing I hate most is the group voting. It's almost always a unanimous vote. I wish people would think for themselves and vote how they want. But people are too careful about making themselves targets. I want to reckless houseguests!

I'm praying for a better cast. A cast that actually wants the money. PLEASE CAST PEOPLE WITH PERSONALITIES!
